The good news is, the older stuff is pretty decent! They peaked pretty early for sure, but managed to churn out a decent volume of listenable material up 'til/maybe including Colony. Really though, if you want HQ melodic metal music, IF is second-tier compared to folks like Carcass post-Symphonies, or At the Gates' first couple releases (Before Terminal Spirit Disease).
Necroticism, Heartwork, The Red in the Sky is Ours, With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness... unparalleled albums in that particular niche.
