for a second I thought you meant Link (zelda 2) and thought you were trolling, but

Acclaimed by many as the greatest Zelda game of all time, there's no question that if you haven't played A Link to the Past you should stop what you're doing right now and get your hands on a copy. Despite following in the footsteps of the original NES Zelda (as opposed to Zelda II), it was within A Link to the Past that the blend of exploration, combat and clever gameplay mechanics was really perfected. The game introduced a number of elements that have become staples of the series, such as multi-level dungeons and weapons like the Master Sword, Hookshot and Pegasus Boots. Its main hook, however, is the use of parallel worlds, but for the sake of those who haven't played it, I'll say no more. Genius.

zelda just isn't the same without the fun items that I loved from OoT

Did you play the Oracle games? They were both fantastic and if you didn't they are definitely worth emulating. They were on the Game Boy Colour.

Might as well start with 9, its probably the shortest and easiest RPG I've ever played. You don't need to level up, you don't need to farm gil, and the story itself is very short. My last play through was just under 15 hours, and that was including about 4 hours to complete the Chocobo Hot and Cold game.

FF8 was my favorite for a long time but I just replayed it and it wasn't as great as I remembered, though still a very good game.

You don't have to level up or farm gil to beat any PS1Final Fantasy. You were doing it wrong if you had to.

random question, what do I put on PSP to watch movies? can I just throw VLC on it or is there a smaller, more compact viewer so I can drag and drop a couple movies to watch

Fuck that, there's no way on a first play through you were gonna just beat Proud Clod without leveling up.
When he says you can beat FF9 without leveling up he means without getting ANY exp that isn't forced.

Voted for FFIX, the ability system is pretty simple but fun overall being able to switch up abilities in order that you might complement combos between characters. Auto-Reflect + Flare = Win Button. The story was pretty decent from what I remember, it was also my first Final Fantasy so I was maybe 8 or 9, so that may just be 8 or 9 year old me talking since I haven't played it again since. I remember the last boss being extremely epic but also easy because I beat it at level 40 something.

Concerning 8, it had a good story but the system was kind of meh. Draw was the worst part, the rest is not bad actually but Draw really brings down the whole system...

Should do VII. Just because I've been wanting to defeat it completely (for the last time, would be exactly my tenth defeat of the game). Only reason why I haven't yet is because the PC version is shit. And I don't have a input for S-Video to hook into my PC for a PSX (I'm tempted to buy a input tuner card soon -.-)

Dont play 9, im playing it right now and remembered that the game system sucks. The story is so-so, and its only real saving grace is the battle/magic/ability system, which actually make it fun to grind.

Id really recommend Tactics if youve never played it, you dont know what youre missing.

If youve already played 7 properly, id give 8 a shot, it has it's week points, and you either love or hate the battle system (I didnt really mind drawing at all, and I liked junctioning), the story is decent, but I liked it better than 9.

But yeah, Tactics or 8 since youve played neither.

I didn't play 9 because I alternated the FF games with someone else. I just watched 9 get played. I think 8>9, 7>9
