Espers were so low tier in FF12 it was fucking ridiculous. It's pathetic when their final attacks would do less than an entire round of your rank's attacks.

Also, was I the only one who REFUSED to gain all the magic on the ability grid (or whatever it was called)? I had Balthier as the green mage/ranger (best gun and haster/buffer/debuffer), Penelo as WHM, and Vaan as the "PLD" (decoy/cure/protect/raise only). I didn't play with any gambits outside NPCs engaging the mob I fight and Penelo curing me <50%HP

Games are a poor method of delivering story nearly 99.9% of the time. A combination of atmosphere and loose concepts work much better than a fully-fleshed out story, as is the case with games such as SMT3 and Shadow of the Colossus.
