Tattoo sleeves (the fake ones)

I've been wanting to get a sleeve done for a while now but I need to settle on a design as well as build up some more confidence to actually get it done. So I saw these nylon tattoo sleeves that claim to be used in Hollywood and I though it would be a good idea to wear these around and make sure I really want a full sleeve done.

Has anyone tried these out before or something similar? How did they work? Did they look anything close to being real?

They look soooo terrible. SOOO terrible lol. Seriously bad and cheesy. Think about your sleeve for a awhile longer if your thinking about it now and not confident about it.

when I was going to get my first tattoo I just carried a drawing of it around in my pocket for a month and looked at it every day to help me make sure I would not tire of the design.

Get it done with henna first, if you really like it then get it inked.

Don't get an entire sleeve done at once. Get each individual part done then have them filled in between.

And yeah, definitely wait a while to make sure you're not going to dislike the design in a month... ideally it should be something you come up with, not some random "design" you pick from a book.

you should get an entire sleeve composed of
- tribal symbols you couldn't possibly name the tribe they're actually from,
- generally accepted good and comforting/inspiring words but now in new Kanji format (which you also can't read),
- the names of your parents/country/loved one/deceased person in your life
- a nude woman (Elvira is a nice touch and of course hasn't been done before, Bette Page works too)
- a dragon (chinese or otherwise unoriginal)


and then because you're feeling like this buy 1 sleeve get 2 predictable tattoo's free would be nice to use since you spent so much on your awesome ruined arm, you should get a barcode on the back of your neck, stars on your hips or shoulders or barring that, some wings above your breasts if you are a chick

I drew mine Q.Q. But agree with the rest of what you said.

I also never understand people that get sleeves and dont plan to be:

a. Rock stars or at least professional performers.
b. Life time bar tenders or bouncers.

I love tattoos, but the military and every other professional job Ive ever worked for would force me to wear long sleeve shirts for the rest of my life. There is a reason all my tats are covered up when I put on a shirt.

When getting a tattoo, ask yourself: "would I still get this if no one would ever see it?".

If yes, then go for it.

My friend got some nice Tats. The only one I really like was the one across his chest.

He got it without knowing what Zelda or the Tri Force was, it came from something else, but I always remember it as a Zelda tatoo.

I would like to add to this list,
-Get black tear drops under your eyes to make people think you killed someone in jail.
although that doesn't go on the arm but still fits your list of stuff

I'm contemplating a starting with a half sleeve. Glad that my lab is so laid back that it wouldn't make a difference, but like you said elsewhere in your post, I don't know where I'll be in 10 years in my career.

I hadn't heard the term until I admired one very same tattoo on this blond chick I know


she's a little older but you'd never know it, 32-33, nice portuguese chick with a bum all the guys at work admire -- but when I complimented her on it at the bar one time she told me she hated it and worked out all the time to fix it (WHAT?!?!!?!)

Make sure to leave some space in the center of the tat so when your nasty old skin starts to sag it wont be completely destroyed.

I think that tattoos in general are a complete turnoff, especially if it's an entire sleeve, or anyplace else that they can be seen with regular clothes on. If it's a more private one then it's not so bad, I guess.

That being said, I think that the FAKE sleeves are actually really cool!

contradictory a bit, i don't like tats they usually just end up looking really trashy because most people who wear them give them a bad image
