    Clothcraft 96-100

So, I just dinged 96 and I'm started to cry at how lame this is. I guess I can continue rasetsu stuff until 99 but after that, there really isn't anything good is there?

Check around on ffxiah and see what is profit/minimal loss and focus on that. And 99-100...have fun. There's a reason I'm in no real rush to finish getting cloth 94

Dance Shoes are probably cheapest until you hit 98 (I think, its been years, I made the moccassins myself, leveled leather with them, then used them for leveling cloth the next day) and then Rasetsu Samue to 99, then Blessed Briault to 100 (or Cursed Dalmatica, if you're in a HNM LS that gets A bodies, just ask to craft them for the person).

Honestly though, getting to 100 now is MUCH cheaper than it used to be. When I did cloth, Spider webs were 30K a piece (yes, that is spider web, singular, not rainbow thread). I was lucky enough to get 2x Shinsoku from GC99 and sell them for 20M and 22M each, which helped me fund my cloth, or else I would have been sunk.

If you have the ampoules to blow or know ppl that need cursed trews or coats made those are also a new lvl 97 craft i believe

like he said, dance shoes are a good bet... make the moccasins yourself and you can farm up rainbow threads pretty easy provided you have a thf... Also, i believe that Foulard cloth are a new lvl 98 synth but not sure how easy the mats are to find?

Also, this wasnt an option when i leveled cloth but you can now make errant cuffs and actually sell them... provided its a semi loss... but it is a piece that sch's use if im not mistaken?

to get to 99 its either you just farm up mats and npc those al zahbi sashes or level smithing to make samue... I went for the sash option because i got lucky and hit a mah houpp when skilling up on them...

there is really no point to push for 100 either because you cant t1 a level 96 synth... If you really want to get it id say to spam enms or buy galaetia clothes to make those argent coats... skilling on dalmies is scary cause you WILL break one eventually...

    best of luck

Foulard should be the best way to get to 98 now. Unless you're on Sylph (I'm looking at you, Mattnumbers), in which case you should stay the hell away from my Arachne Webs, at least until I get 11 more skillups. It should be break-even or a small profit, but could be a bit of a loss too, it all depends on how much all the morons undercut it to get theirs to sell slightly faster. Regardless, it's better than any of the other options in terms of cost to skill up.

As for 98-99, my plan is to do Rasetsu Samue and NPC them all, but this requires you to have both smithing and leather subs leveled. It's also limited by the supply of Raxa, but as long as you don't want to skill up extremely fast, this shouldn't be a big deal. It wouldn't hurt to start stockpiling some Raxa on a mule before you get to this point.

Getting to 100 isn't worth the cost or the trouble. The only thing that being 100+6 instead of 99 helps with are adding a tier on level 55, 75, and 95 synths. For clothcraft, the only thing at any of those levels that is even worth the slightest bit is Elite Beret, and the value of an HQ isn't nearly enough to justify the cost of going 99-100. If I ever get to 100, it'll be accidentally through synthing items for others, not through any deliberate effort.

Pretty sure i did taru sashes to 95, dance shoes to 98, al zhabi sash to 99, and currently doing dalmaticas for my linkshell til 100 (using leather sub). Its a bit of a gil sink for those last levels- but you can offset the cost with profit synths like Cursed Slacks (which also gives you skill up til 97) and other lower level synths that you can HQ. There are other paths depending on what your sub jobs are, but I was slack and got to this level without any sub jobs, and then levelled leather at the end.

Yea, so far I have my Leathercrafting at 52, smithing at 41 (for the rasetsu hakama, I was skilling on them for a bit,) GS at 30, and those are my only noteworthy subs. I should probably get another 10 skills on smithing so i can do samue but smithing is such a pain in the ass.

Good thing I'm neglecting clothcraft in favor of decking out my THF, subcrafts, and occasionally attempting to sign myself an aristo coat, so, yeah, I can wait. I think I have 6 arachne threads laying around anyway

Foulard to 98 and then pretty much suck it up and go with Rasetsu. After that then really argent bodies/random dalmy synths/random cape synths. I'm 98... it's not fun.

I'd probably skip errant capes unless you really want to sign one to be quite honest. I sold one I've had for over a year and it took me 3 weeks to off load it

Best bet for 99-100 is to offer your free synthing services for people who want Dalmatica's synthed (partner with a HNM LS, or Einherjar LS) and or do ENM's regularly and buy the Galateia off your run partners etc (saves a little money). Kyudogi synths are one you can also take advantage of. i've been comissioned (granted long after I dinged 100) to make a couple dozen kyudogi's since they came out. I guess finding someone will all their subs capped is difficult, hence why I always suggest people do that almost before they start 90-100 on cloth.

I did Argent coats from 99-100 since Eltoro leather was generally cheaper on my server the Gal. But dance shoes to 98, Rase to 99 and whatever you can get to 100, depends on if you have your subs leveled too.

Don't level Smithing anymore. I brokesynth Rasetsu Samue from 98-99 and it cost me like 600k for that level, which was freaking amazing.

I just hit 98 tonight on Foulard, and to break synth samue doesn't my smithing sub need to be 5 under the cap? So I should skill it up 5 more times.

15 levels under optimally for break synthing. At 5 under you are going to have a passable success rate. 15 under is almost guaranteed fail

I guess, I'm just afraid of "Oh noes my darksteel sheets QQ" I know I know, I've already spent a lot of money getting Clothcraft to 98 but still, it hurts to see those items go D:

    Raxa is also a pain.

Load up on the right energy for the synth to reduce material loss. It took me 22 synths to do 98-99 iirc, unfortunately I lost both the Raxa on every synth... seems to be a 100% loss thing w/o mogification. (which wasn't out yet)

Yea, that's the other thing. Damn raxa is never in stock on my server and when it is, it's only ever 1 at a time haha. Oh well, nobody said 100 craft was easy.

I did the breaksynth route from 98-99 on Samue as well...and I wouldn't reccomend it. I now have a smithing level that would have allowed me simply to synth and NPC them, and saved a helluva lot of time and gil.

Took me 31 synth from 98-99, so that's 62 pieces of raxa lost guaranteed. That's 558k if you can grab 'em @9k each. Assume you save every single piece of material used except the raxa, and break every one, you'll lose 558k. I think we'll all agree you'll be losing more mats than that.

If you buy all mats off the AH, it will cost about 50k per synth. NPC's for 23k. So a loss of 27k per synth if you successfully synth all and NPC for a total of 837k loss over 31 synths.

That means you will save 279k if you effectively breaksynth ONLY the raxa and save all mats versus if you synth for success and skillups and NPC 'em.

And here's a greater kick to the nuts:

You're gonna lose the raxa no matter what- either success (now a Samue) or fail (poof! byebye). So that 18k of a 50k cost is always lost.

Darksteel sheets are usually around 20k/ea or 160k/stack on pandemonium. Ores are 8k. You can skillup your smithing off ores->ingots->sheets several levels and have paid about 10k a sheet vs. 14k-20k a sheet.

Tiger leather sits @20k a stack. Hides are 1k each on AH and can be used for final skillup push to take leather to 60.

Velvet cloth we all know is made a lot cheaper than bought.

By simply quickly looking at the numbers quickly, using items it would take to skill up your smithing and leathercraft for "double skillup" purposes (such as mocassins to skillup LC and make those into dance shoes to skillup CC), you could cut that cost of 50k/synth down to 27k/synth, assuming you do the darksteel/tiger leather suggestion and make your own velvet and rainbow thread.

That means a 4k loss per synth.....or 124k lost for my 31 synths. It does take some more time, but the push from 98-100 just blows, so might as well level your subs, save the mats, and use the money you saved (and time, because the making time wasn't wasted as you were shooting for skillups) for future moneymaking ventures.

Just started 98-99 after not having touched it for a few months. 3/5 on skillups so far. Problem is Raxa. I fully expect the next .7 to take another 20 >.>
