They really need to notate accounts as to why they are banned. I hate how they always hide behind their Terms of Service stating that they can terminate accounts whether there is a reason or not. That's just wonderful SE, your paying customers really love this response when questioned as to why they are not able to continue playing.
Ok so here's what going down for me. A friend of mine who got deployed to Afghanistan recently decided he didnt want to play and gave his account to me. All good. July he paid for then i changed the CC info, address etc. Well i go to log on today and im slapped with this LM-17 message. The email stated that it was due to a charge back yadda yadda we all know the deal. Well i get on the chat with them and this is what i get.

So basically just because i changed the CC info they decided to throw the irregular activity shit up and ban the account. So now I'm stuck trying to get a hold of the guy half way across the world or say screw it.

This is what i am assuming. Which is lame cause some people my use a different CC like a friends or parents or something if they have money issues or what not and they are just making it more difficult/ frustrating for people to have an account. Yes it may stop the once in a while idiot who loses their shit by giving away log in info and someone stealing it but that's what the GM's/ Info center is there to help if that does happen. So lame if you ask me.
That can't be it. My mule account is under my name and so is the credit card I had been paying for it with.
I think they're just full of shit, the only problem I've had is when I was broke sometimes, I would cancel my mule and reactivate when I had the money, that shouldn't put a flag on my account though, that should just make them reasonably assume that I'm broke.
Well, that would be OK. I'm referencing the fact that the name on the account DOESN'T match the name on the CC. Your example wouldn't cause any concern because the names match. Which is way i think its bs. There are prob a lot of people who say started playing when they were a minor and possibly had their rents setup up the paymetn options with their name. Well this many years down the road they have their own CC now and now that have to get a photo copy of their parents ID. Or as you stated, could be broke as hell and bumming a friends card. Either way its really ridiculous.
Well that was the account of mine that got banned. The other one (my main) is actually in my ex-husband's name (same last name) but under my card. And it's fine, not banned.
There's no reasoning behind it, I think they just spin a wheel or something.
I guess i must just be unlucky then cause this "wheel" got my main last month as well. Because I have been deployed multi time and each time had given people access to(with a power of attorney so it was legal even under their gay ToS) it they paid for it, SE said to many CC's been on the account perma'd. SO lame guess this mean get rid of my alt and just call it quits ; ;

Guys, you're giving in and giving up far too easy. You have to quote these people and point out the contradictions. The e-mail states you can get your account back with no strikes. That's it. Cut and dry. You have to stick to that and keep going up the chain of command as much as needed and bitch as much as needed until they give you an acceptable resolution.
And yes I know that you shouldn't need to harass them to get things corrected, but this is the real world. Companies do this kind of shit all the time and unless you harass them about it, nothing will change. They know that. It's why they're like that. So stop being idealist and go after them.
Initially I was told on the phone it was perma for irregular activity. Decided to hop online and try to see if I couldn't scare up a supervisor to help clear some of this up. I did indeed request a charge back b/c I was billed improperly.
I was irritated enough that I wasn't going to bother with the notary form, but I think I'm going to try to do so now in hopes of them making another mistake. I was told absolutely that I would have my account reinstated with no strikes or penalties and there would be no investigation and I'm going to hold them to it.
