This is insane. They're telling me now that because I faxed my ID in after they changed to another policy, I now have to file a ban complaint and hope that it's released to me, but if I had faxed it a little bit earlier it would have been released to me with no investigation into it.
This is so utterly fucking ridiculous.

SEI POL Edgar A.: The reason you would have to do it now is because if you faxed your information at that time and it wasn't released then usually that's the end of it and you would not be able to get the account back.
ME: I'd like to know why it wasn't released then.
SEI POL Edgar A.: At that time when you did send the fax in we didn't require it, for all other customer who went through the same issue is now supposed to that from.
I don't know, seems reasonable to me. Let me try to explain this to you using an analogy you should understand.
Let's imagine your account as though it's an item, let's say an Earthen Abjuration: Body. You've really wanted to get your account back for a long time, just like some people wait for an E.body. You jump through a bunch of hoops and spend a lot of time, and finally you're just about to get your account/E.body. It's dropped, you just have to do the one last thing and you're set.
Then some fucking asshole ninja lots it (changes the policy) and you're back to square one.

When you believe in karma, you accept the consequences of your actions, good or bad. I ended up quitting after that b/c I'd ruined my rep. I'd say ruining my gaming experience to the point of me quitting after 5yrs would be my karma. Yeah, I had quit before it was suspended.
There are two reasons I've been fighting to get it back so hard. 1) Out of principal. What they're doing is wrong. 2) I was going to give one of my best friends the account since his had been LM-17'd.
Believe it or not, I can be a really nice guy. But hay, just continue to base your opinion of me on one mistake that had nothing to do with you. I mean, you haven't ever made a mistake, have you?

But on topic, some info on what cs is like on the other side, hope this helps.
Customer service often is led by a small group of managers. If they do not communicate with each other after also communicating with their upper management, it forms a communication nightmare along the lines of the Tower of Babel. Each rep is excoriated about the fact that they must try at all times to avoid call escalation to those few managers.
The fact that the T3 manager was not polite is a trade off, considering he at least addressed each question by repeating them to the customer. I prefer having a polite one but would rather have the addressing of all questions than nothing at all.
During the first day trading, dot com boom, the hold times averaged 3 hours. This was before my department was wise enough to open 24 hour call center shifts. I had to deal with computer illiterate people, uninformed about stock trading and how the market works. These customers were trying to conduct "wise" stock trades on their new online brokerage accounts.
After losing major cash by fucking up their trades, they were told to call in, should they dispute them or have issues beyond the highly informative web site FAQ that they never read. I had to quote the website TOS to vehement UAE millionaire customers after they lost frightening amounts of money in trades and were ready to kill people.
When the reps answer the phone you may or may not have an assemblage of personal knowledge, (off script personal commentary that may not be fact) combined with the ability to read a script or remember the script without reading it.
Hopefully the script flows well and is written well. Good scripts are hard to find. I hated having to write scripts for my department.
The ability to read the script entails following a flow chart that advises you on approved dialog for each rebuttal. They have specific responses for angry customers as well.
They advise the employee to -maintain control of the call at all times- by following the dialog time line on the script and properly closing the call with a satisfied customer who will not need to call back again.
Some departments rage on their employees when they go off of the approved dialog and use their own. That same employee is likely more personal and makes the customer happy with that human response. Being good is a balancing act of following policy and adding informed dialog without pissing off the script nazi's paid to review employee's calls.
Take all of that and factor in that we must assume that all of these scripts are updated regularly with new policy.
Factor in that they may or may not be good at it.
TL;DR:
While none of this is any customer's fault in any way shape or form, it is to your benefit to take your time and try to be as concise as they are or more so.
Try again later with another rep if it does not work out.
Tell managers about each and every employee who is rude to you.
Report managers who are also rude.
Be aware of your rights and stick to them, requiring the same from them.
Repeat your questions politely and stick to them until you get an answer.
Repeat their answer or last said words when you wish for them to be addressed in a way that you understand or in a way that answers your original question.

Somewhere in the rift of time with players that loved their FF series of games SE has developed this superiority attitude and have forgotten how privelleged it is to have us as paying customers.
In the midst of a pretty big mistake and the decent amount of players that were innocently banned its obvious that they really only care about the JP population playing the game. It's been like that since day 1 and I doubt will ever change. I've spoken with other ls members that were suddenly banned out of the blue and they haven't gotten their accounts back either... BTW I've yet to hear of one JP account that was banned due to this.
I refuse to reactivate my other 5 accounts... (For those that didn't follow a mule was banned that contained a decent amount of items and my crafting materials foor changing my credit card info on the weekend of July 4th... NO NONE OF MY MAIN CHARS WERE BANNED)
