They actually DID mention a little while ago that they might increase the total merits per catagory for combat and/or magic merits.

a much better solution would be to let us buy out merits permanently then cap us on equipping and force it to be done in MH or something. then i could merit wind/singing for brd, cap out all the good t2 rdm merits and be able to choose the one i need for a task (EG if i'm soloing i can use my bio3 but it doesn't hamper me outside of that), and the myriad other combinations that it would unlock. but alas, that's not how SE operates, is it?

Blindness, Silence, Poison, and even Curse can be remedied cheaply by ordinary items obtainable right off the Auction House, and allows the healer to focus on healing. Further, just using these items on oneself prevents the need for White Mages to get hit by it for Esuna to work, or take the extra step and use Sacrafice. These status effects ARE NOT worth 90 million and all the other Herculean tasks to get a mythic weapon. Melees that whine and cry about this need to learn to be self sufficient. Why expect someone to do something for you that you can do for yourself?

yes, people will say the value has degraded some with esuna and that's a little bit true.

The case where i can see Yagrush being worth it is when wanting to keep the White Mage out of HNM AOE, preventing Esuna use unless Sacrafice is used, AND when dealing with status effects that players cannot remove from themselves; Gravity, Bind, etc. But...when is this really a problem, Serket[S]? Maybe the Burn effect on Cerberus? Aren't these HNMs a bit lol for a 90 million gil purchase? I realize i'm setting myself up here, but if anyone can come with three-five HNMs that meet this criteria (that you'd actually want to fight), have at.

If you're doing a Self Skillchain, you most certainly would. KA[S], Serket[S], Nid, Kirin, various Jailers. Can melee for Tp for Chain Affinity as well. Useful in every situation, like /thf for Khimera, Cerberus, no, but City Dynami, MP is gonna run out of mp sooner or later. Just melee and idle in Af2, so you're doing damage WHILE you're getting MP back, instead of doing no damage while kneeling. Consider that swords have decent damage ratings and DPSs.

WHM Mythic is by far the most useful.

However I think people here are selling the BRD a bit short. 24 seconds might not seem like much, but that's 24 seconds more you have to do other stuff like pulls/sleeps/etc. And as mentioned, it's pretty nice when you SV with it.

Really though I'd only get that if you're hellbent on maxing out your BRD. Otherwise, Yagrush for the ridiculous utility of the weapon. Tizona is at best a toy and won't make a huge impact on the really dangerous mobs (which you won't be meleeing anyway)

Yagrush is probably the "best" option.

However, you seem to be a person that actually likes playing bard, personally I would recommend run with that, get creative. You're bard years old, you do what you want!
