I think you need a reply from someone who is actually married, here :-/

There are two major issues you have (apart from the whole law school thing, which is as bad as "medical school" for destroying relationships).

    1. you dont understand why she's asking you to do this (along with 99% of the posters here, apparently)

    2. you have no involvement in her church. with a small implication that you arent involved in Christianity at all, either.

#1 is a small issue, compared with #2.
If you want a good marriage, you really need to be on the same page as her with that. Otherwise, you're going to have a lot of fights down the road.

I suggest you start going to her church, and learn about their teaching more.
You could start with asking them why they are telling her to do this.

If you're not willing to get involved that much, then let her go. She deserves someone who loves her enough to actually share her life with her.
This sounds awfully too much like "since you're not religious, you're the wrong one here" which is: batshit retarded.

Who is she to tell him what he can and can't do with his own body out of the blue like that, with no communication at all? There's a lot of problems with the OP's thought process, but I can guarantee you that him not going to Church isn't one of them. He doesn't have to go there to understand, he just needs to talk to her which (incase you haven't been paying attention) is what most of us are telling him to do.

Dont listen to this ball-less Dr.Phil troll shit. Man up and tell how you really feel.

I'm married, and my wife would never ask me to do something that fucking stupid.

This is A+++ trolling right here, nice work.

Someone check the IP logs, this looks like the work of someone BG already knows.

Oh god. Get this guy's email address, question him about every decision you have to make for the rest of your life, and do the opposite.

She told him that she wanted him to not ejaculate for the next 3 years via a text message.

Yeah, he's definitely the one that needs to change to suit her needs.

I've dated a few crazy bitches in my time and your gf is showing early signs of being one. If you're really committed and not willing to gtfo before it's too late here's my advice:

    1. Agree to do it
    2. Wait(length of time is up to you)
    3. Sit down and talk(We tried it, I have needs, etc)
    4. If she insists you remain celibate ->

Sex is an important part of any healthy relationship and don't listen to anyone who says otherwise. Good luck.

I think you need a separate thread to ask people if marriage is really the end-all, be-all of commitment to another person. Quit treating it as some lofty pillar. Just because your relationship has your own particular set of rules doesn't mean everyone plays by them.

Because obviously the whole "dude, dump her, get your rocks off" is the standard for the rest of us.

It's easy for all of us to say "dude GTFO" (myself included) but this is probably the path you should take, considering the amount of time invested. Give her a chance, see if she snaps out of it, but yeah. Her demand is completely unacceptable, but she's earned a little bit of time to change her dumbass mind given how long you've been together. Give her a little time.

Sounds to me like they've talked a fair amount, but she/they arent any good at communicating about it.

if your wife/gf is all hot over, "Hey this new diet/excerciseplan/guru spiritual makeover thing is da bomb we gotta do it!!!", which is the smarter thing to do:

    a) say "ok whatever you like; tell me what you'd like me to do, and I'll think about it"

    b) read the book/plan/whatever, and get understanding of it yourself, before discussing it further.

To me, b) is the smart choice, because for one thing, the woman could be misunderstanding the thing in the first place, and/or miscommunicating what is being asked of her.

Having person A, tell you about what person B told THEM, is never as clear as just hearing it from person B directly.

I had a woman who used to always tell me what to do. Her name was 'Mommy' and she doesn't do it anymore. You keep tiptoeing around the idea of compromise but in the end say something comparable to "she is gonna want to do this, and realistically you are going to have to let her."

LoL at "just get more into christianity". I feel SO bad for super religious couples, and 99% of them have no clue what they are missing by not being in a mature relationship. Seriously hope no one here is taking grownup seriously.

I hope grownup is actually his girlfriend, trying to persuade him to go to church with her to learn the joys of pleasure denial to soak up Jesus's tears.

If I actually even tried to do the celibacy thing, I would walk around with no shirt every time she was around. I'd workout alot, and then got over to her house all sweaty and ask if I could use her shower.

If you're having sex THAT much, then one would say fairly safely that the majority of the time you two spend together is spent with your dick out. Fun, sure but odds are quite good that she's starting to wonder if there is anything beyond the physical side of this relationship. If you really loved the girl you'd talk this out with her and just try a challenge, go one month without sex and make an agreement to revisit the issue later, see how you both feel at that point.

Sex IS an important part of a long term relationship. But it seems like you guys pretty much have that down. Maybe she wants to be around you and not feel like you're trying to get her pants off. Of course, she's testing you. "will he still want to be around me when my vagina is off limits?" If you're serious about her, then you will. If you just like fucking her, then you won't.

I like how you throw around phrases like "mature relationship" without attempting to define what that means.
What exactly do you think a "mature relationship" is? having sex 10 times a week?
'cause you need to be.. ya know, like.. REAL MATURE... to be able to have sex 10 times a week.

But seriously.. "Christianity" covers a whooole spectrum of behaviours and beliefs when it comes to marriage, relationships, and sex.
Some churches think 'sex is bad'. Some think 'sex is ok for making babies'.
Some churches think 'sex is a gift from God, and if you have it 8 times a day when you are married, then that's awesome'.

That's why I suggested the guy specifically talk to the church where his girlfriend goes.
