What would you level? (WHM, BLM, BRD)

I reactivated my account about 2 months ago. I came back with a 45 WHM, sub'ing a lvl 19 BLM. I quickly started up BARD and now reached it to lvl 37.

My WHM is now at 50 (pending lvl limit quest), and discovered how easy it is to level up my BLM with burn parties in Quif Island. BLM is now at lvl 25.

What should I focus on? My play style is very solo. I'm a loner without a linkshell doing my own thing. I would love to farm mobs and make more gil than what I make now. I would love to explore cooler areas. Should I continue my WHM till 75? BLM or BARD? Bard is getting expensive for my gil income. Thanks

Bards enjoy one of the best invite rates in the game, so you'll hit 75 faster than any other job. Keep in mind that a good WHM will also need /sch sub, which may be bothersome to level if you have limited playtime.

WHM solo's better than a BRD, but none of them excels at it. Gil shouldn't be a problem as BRD costs less(iirc) than WHM(both gear and scroll-wise).

i would level them in this order for solo
blm > brd > whm.

obviously blm has the biggest advantage for soloing with big dmg spells and 4 different sleeps.

i'll disagree on whm > brd solo though. a good brd/nin can go for a limitless amount of time and never have to stop. a whm (barring any refresh) would have to stop.

WHM is an incredibly useful job to have at 75, and can function fairly well without a tremendous gil investment, but leveling it up is definitely a drag if you don't have friends to static with. Be prepared to get invited to a lot of stupid and ineffective and highly frustrating 5xDD bird parties once you're in the ToAU areas.

You can get away with /blm most of the time while you're leveling up, but /sch is an absolute must in the long run. You'd want to have it available for when you hit 70+ at the very least.

j/k - Actually, I capped my Staff, Club, Sword, and Dagger skills all on Bard solo so I can attest to the survivability of a BRD/NIN. I really have not spent any time soloing on WHM so cannot really compare them, but neither WHM nor BRD hold a candle to the speed of a BLM solo.

agreed. but i know brd/nin with daggers i can tear through some stuff pretty quickly.

pull with elegy, never ever use a dot or requiem.

I'd use march and minuet with sushi. What you do is when you get low on shadows (down to 1). use sleep recast shadows wait a few seconds and begin smacking

The problem with blm solo is your going to want to level nin and rdm to 37 as well (might as well go to 40 as well on rdm for bcnms). As all the pet camps youll want to alternate between them for effective soloing. But like others have said soloing to 75 blm>whm>brd. (melee pre 70 will be a pita for either but whm automaticly gets RR and a stonger ws earlier with better weapons to chose from). BRD gets super fast invite and both are cheap and easy to gear up properly. As for subs as 75 its 3 blm (whm rdm nin) 3 brd (blm whm nin) and 3 whm (sch blm smn). Thats the standard subs for them.

Id recommend sence your at 50 take a break and try to get blm and rdm to 40 maybe even sch. Blm can solo any pet areas with rdm but some places are just easier with /nin imo (pso'ja and newton). All you need for nin is utsumi so level 12 could cut it but sneak/invis with more int from a caped sub would be the better route imo.
