    Summerfest?

    Summerfest - The World's Largest Music Festival

    I'm throwing around the idea of heading down to Milwaukee for one evening to go see a few bands and possibly meet a few e-friends from another BBS, anyone else possibly going?

    If I did go it'd probably be the 26th (Offspring/Dropkick Murphys), the 30th (Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire) or the 5th (Reel Big Fish).

    I'm going to Germanfest instead. Better food, better people, and it's not so packed.

    There is a ton of great music down there this year though, compared to other years at least. Oh and if a popular rapper is in town the day you want to go - don't - that's when people end up getting shot/stabbed/beaten, which is unfortunately inevitable at Summerfest.

    Yes Milwaukee has violence, it's basically mini-Chicago. It's been steadily getting better, but Summerfest always brings out the worst. Beatings and muggings are guaranteed, more serious crime is likely. Same thing every year...

    Honestly it's not worth it at Summerfest unless you enjoy most of the lineup. I went last year and had a blast, but if I only liked the headliner I probably would have hated it.

    Also lol @ Milwaukee being a mini-Chicago. I like Milwaukee and all but I wouldn't call it that, not much there imo

    If you like any of the bands playing this year, or like to eat a lot of food, come on over. Otherwise, it's just a bunch of large, smelly people packed together like steer.

    I was obviously speaking in terms of violence... Per population the two cities are unfortunately pretty similar.

    In terms of "not much there", I don't know... I can't think of much that Milwaukee doesn't have that Chicago does have. In my opinion there's "not much there" in both cities. Midwest cities are pretty boring in general.
