I also wanted to ask how many hours to expect out of this? If the pc version has drm then I'm just going to stop holding off and actually buy this on the console.
About 20-30 hours to do everything, aside from maxing out skills.
My initial playthrough was 22 hrs, I havent tried to platinum it just yet.
not til 2012 so too early for a thread, figured a slight necro was better, but woohoo
http://kotaku.com/5566615/darksiders-2-coming-in-2012
Darksiders, one of the surprise hits of 2010, has done enough to deserve a sequel, publishers THQ revealing this week that Darksiders 2 will be out in 2012.
That's a while away, I know, but it's also enough time to do a proper sequel, not your standard "crank out a new story on the same engine" thing that many other franchises seem to settle for these days
Sorry for necro. Darksiders 2 expected to be released in April 2012/Q2 2012. And there's a few new details on it as well.

Damnit! I wants a 4 horseman game ; ;
Maybe they'll redo War's character design. Such terrific artwork and everybody else in the game looked so ridiculously bad-ass but I could never shake off the feeling I was playing as a roided-up dwarf.
EDIT: Nevermind, article says they're going with a new protagonist. Interesting to see the story is going to take place simultaneously during the first game.
I just started playing this (on PC) and, I got to say, it kinda sucks. Perhaps things get more interesting when you get more attacks and items and shit, but I really doubt it given what the first level showed me(following taking everything away, like I had any cool shit to begin with). This game wants to be Devil May Cry 1, but it doesn't do a good enough job at being God of War 1. Anyway, the bigger enemies I found are actually pretty tough(they kill you fast, anyway), but the way I am jumping around and slashing is really silly/getting boring quick. Otherwise it has been pretty easy. The best thing about this game is how quickly you move on climbing horizontally(lol). Now the art design is downright atrocious, bad even for western fantasy games. Through some miracle it might be more ugly than WoW. WoW/Blizzard-style ugliness + a bit of Warhammer 40k ugliness + most typical demon designs ever ugliness + Post apocalyptic ugliness.
EDIT: Giving this thread a read through, lol at Qalbert talking about Darksiders over Bayonetta.
This is Joe Mad's stuff? Wow, now it is starting to make sense. He is one of the worst success comic artist around.
How dare you speak poorly of Joe Mad!
Darksiders looks fucking awful, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a great time with the parts that paid homage to Panzer Dragoon, Portal, and Shadow of the Colossus. It was paced well, and did get substantially more interesting to play as more skills become available.
I still remember Joe Mad for being the only author I can remember of that simply ended his own series (Batlle Chasers) because he was bored with it. Story didnt conclude, sub-plots didnt either, the series simply stopped.
yea I wasnt a huge fan of the art style myself but in terms of gameplay I really enjoyed Darksiders an awful lot
I liked the visuals in Darksiders. It was really different. Granted it wasn't brushed up like XIII, but it had a style all its own that was kind of nice.
