God damnit....feel so bad for Roddick...damn
Wow man...
God damn, 16-14...
Such an awesome game. Grats to Roger's 15th Grand Slam.
Amazing, AMAZING Final. I'd say it equals the Fed/Nadal match last year most definitely.
I was doubting Federer would win a bunch of times, such a close and epic match but i'm glad its over now, went on way too long lol
Man its got to suck to get so close and then hang out there for all that shit afterward.
meh im sure he can handle it he just earned himself like $700k, and for doing something he loves.
the look on his face though, he was fucking devastated, i hope he doesn't take it to heart, and continues the way he's been playing.
Incredible playing by both players, I hope Roddick continues to step up.
I feel really bad for Roddick. He was playing so incredible the whole tourney. It was the best he's ever been. Even better than when he was #1 in the world.
Fed was just clutch yet again. If you think about it, they met in the Finals four times which means Roddick could have had four more titles if not for his nemesis. Hopefully Roddick carries this confidence in his ground game into the US Open.
It was a shame Roddick didn't win. I think that Federer is a bit of a pretentious ass, and it would have been good if someone were to knock him down a peg or two.
It was a great game, really exciting stuff. I was definately rooting for Roddick the whole way through, and the last game was really nail biting (if not a little tedious...)
I liked how in the victory speech Federer was like "We've all been there before..." and Roddick yelled out "YOU'VE WON FIVE TIMES!" loooool
I don't see why people are hating Federer for trying to say something nice to Roddick. What else is he going to say, "I have no idea how you're feeling, because I won in my first 5 Wimbledon finals appearances"?
At least Federer doesn't publicly insult and laugh at the #1 player in the world because he's too damn lazy to keep the rating himself. (Serena)
I admit I don't like the air, but in a head to head game like tennis, you have to believe you're the best there is in order to even have a chance mentally to stay in the game.
Federer, at least, has to work for his game, and play true tennis.
It drives me nuts to see such an absurd talent like Serena, who, given a Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods work ethic, would absolutely without question blow them, and anyone else, completely out of any "most dominant" discussion, period, dedicate herself to bullshit meaningless popularity at the expense of her game.
It drives me even more nuts to see her beat Venus, who has matured past all that, and made herself into a true tennis player, with the best all around game by miles, simply because Serena hits the ball as hard as a man.
I gotta admit tho, I lol'd @ "Are you looking at my titles?"
It is a joke that Safina was ever number 1 without ever winning a major title. Way too many people on the tour that have won multiple majors.
I don't think Roger was out of line, but I mean Roddick is right in his feeling that Roger has no idea wtf Roddick feels like after this loss. No one alive in the tennis world can really empathize with him, because hes now 0/3 in the Wimbledon finals all at the hands of Federer even after playing the match of his life.
Like everyone else, I just hope this only fuels Roddick and gives him even more confidence that he can beat anyone and thus continues to show us this kind of skill.
