    My 75 year old History professor used an anecdote from Weeds to make a point in class, probably something about the ineptitude of George W. Bush though I don't entirely remember. Despite this, I haven't started watching this show yet.

    He was a tenured professor at my university who quit because he didn't need the money anymore and wanted other people in the department to get tenured. Then he came back as an adjunct because he presumably liked his job and had nothing else to do. He had higher standards than most other professors I've encountered, and actually forced people to do all of the readings to pass the exams and failed you for 5 absenses. I got a B in the class after getting a low C on the first exam cold, so I kind of regret not listening to him on the first class because I definitely could have gotten an A if I had read.

    I had a 70-year old English prof who started marking you at a 90 because he assumed that we weren't perfect because we were first years.
