So I Got a sch/rdm Imp

Been working on him off and on for past couple months, and have decided to go all out.

At the moment he just dinged 30, just throwing him repeatedly at the diablo holder and PLing.

He currently has black magic scrolls, white magic scrolls, casting speed +15% and capped blink. for 69/whatever FP

Caps at 90 FP, and seeing how hard his spells hit I'm thinking of taking of white magic scrolls since he never uses them, and swapping 15% fast cast for fast cast bonus.

Then thinking of popping on magic att bonus, so my set up will be:

Blink: 12

Black magic scrolls: 17

Magic att bonus: 30

Casting Speed Bonus: 30

For a total of 89/90 FP, sounds like a good plan? Any better suggestions? At the moment he lasts a good 1 minute against the level 50 dark elemental spamming magic on me, so I think once he gets high he'll be a force to be reckoned with.

Scholar doesn't have access to aga spells...

So does tossing in black magic scrolls just automatically give him access to every black magic spell in the whole game or something? Am I gonna randomly see my imp cast drain strength?

If so, one could just toss in black magic scrolls on a dark night and watch em spam agas too?

Classes only give you the traits, not the spells. In other words, you have the traits of a SCH/RDM.

Gives him access to BLM spells.

Actually, some mobs have an innate spell list if they are casters.

For example, a regular ghost starts as WAR/BLM, but will have access to drain at lv12 and will cast stun at 37. It will also cast ga spells that /blm should not give it access to. However, it will cast spells with the skill of a blm sub meaning at higher level the spells often get resisted. If its main job is changed to DRK, then it tends to go unresisted. If it's changed to BLM/DRK, it automatically will cast all blm spells up to level 50 (including freeze) without being given BLM scrolls. Ahriman also experience this as they typically start as WAR/BLM like ghosts.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, a similar thing occurs with elementals. They only cast spells of their element, but can do so without scrolls. Once given scrolls, they will cast from the whole list. Worms will cast only earth spells and bind usually. If given BLM scrolls they will cast all of the BLM spells.


So, it's possible that you never had to give your Imp BLM scrolls to begin with since Imps are naturally BLM casters and as such you may be wasting some FP. If you wanted the WHM spells though, you most likely would need to have those scrolls on there.
