Since theres one for Tinnin, I thought I'd start one for Tyger. I've never fought this mob before, but understand the strategies behind Sarameya/Tinnin low man. Can you also kill Tyger with DDx2 Rdm Whm Brdx2? Any experiences or tips would be nice.

Tyger Triple Attacks like a motherfucker and doesn't he do Tourbillion every 30s-1min? It's been a while since I fought him but I don't believe DD tanking would work too well on it.
Yeah it spams Tourblillion, which makes it tough to DD tank. Third Eye doesn't help with it and if you don't have 2-3 Shadows up when Tourbillion hits, which coupled with the triple attack is bound to happen, you're going to kiss the floor pretty fast.
Out of 5 attempts to DD tank it on Sam/Nin I only made it through one alive. The rest looked something like this:
http://i44.tinypic.com/sbo9b6.jpg
This was with buffs and full damage reduction set (-26% physical damage)
Rangers (or any sort of ranged DDs) worked pretty good in terms of damage - 6 people might be pushing it, but with 2 Pld in a tank party setup and some additional Smns or Rngs you should be able to get the job done.
Wondering for future doing this fight, does blu/thf cannonball dmg work well on him?
It does, I had one go far downhill and we had a BLU/THF zombie it with CB/Dis until we could recover, I recall them doing solid chunks with CB.
As far as lowmanning it, in my experiences it's a fucking beast offensively, even as PLD it was taking shadows as fast as I could put them up and hitting me for upwards of 400 a pop on normal melee swings.
Immune to elegy/slow. I fucking HATE Tyger. Honestly, he hits about as hard as Khim, and attacks significantly faster due to inability to elegy, and uses Tourb alot more.
Blm damage is pretty crappy. Melee damage is decent, as is ranged. However you want to avoid feeding too much TP.
Best approach we have used thus far is 2 pld/nins with traditional support and a smn party for overall damage. blu/thf also does ok, but hate gets sensitive in this fight due to tanks taking a fair amount of damage.
Not sure what to tell you low man, as im sure you could win with just about any reasonable setup (mostly because you can hold it and zombie it), but for a "clean" kill, take a good tank party and just limit TP.
If it has similar hp to sarameya (or even regular khim) then 2 good blu/thf just doing SA cannonball and tanking/dying til tanks get hate back should have no problem killing it before 60min mark. Could use standard tank pt of 5 people and 2 blus, I wouldn't know how much lower you'd want to go because of his offensive ability.
My BLU did ~1.4kDMG without buffs (Kabobs/Songs). I'm certain you can hit at least 1.5k and maybe even more with Minne 2x and Kabobs. Add a 2hr and I wouldn't doubt 2k DMG.
The main problem is with hate. You need 2x BLUs to bounce hate back and forth. Even then, BLU gets their ass kicked by AoEs. One Fulmation or Tourbillion can wreck your BLUs.
What Kaeko said and I would be more worried about tail attacks than the TP move to be honest. I hear he attacks faster from behind (Not sure since whenever I didn't tank). If you can bring 2x BLU/THF and manage AoE attacks hitting them, you're fine. Non-CA spells were ~800DMG if I remember correctly. CA from the front with just TA (If you hit) did ~400DMG.
While I don't have anything to offer in terms of low manning Tyger, my group fought the T3 Einherjar Khimaira(Gorgimera) this evening and if Tyger shares similar damage numbers with Khimaira and Gorgimera, then Plague Swipe can be pretty damaging (1000+) if it hits. On the bright side though, it's also blocked by 2-3 shadows like regular flail.
Seeing as how blu can still do damaged weakened it wouldn't really matter. As for his flail move, plague swipe is heavy damage but its only behind him and therefore never hits tanks.
Killing it with 1-2 blus wouldn't be pretty for the blus but khim has no regen or stoneskin and blu can keep doing cannonball every minute without any concern for AoE or weakness which makes it completely unique (see apathys first PW kill).
If you can control for AOEs and have nice XP buffer (I only had ~5k at the time), a BLU zombie strat works fine. I don't know if Tyger has TP regen, but that might be an issue you want to consider if he does.
tyger is just a fucking cockblock in ZNM
in terms of tier 3 spawn locations + the difficulty of tyger alone
yea its easy to win still, but if you compare it to tinnin and lolsarameya, tyger is in his own class
1 hit out of 3 from tourbillion, and your 90% eating the dirt(DD)
Tourbillion is physical i believe, and only PLD can prolly eat them w/o dying(damage reduction NIN might not even make it always)
my shell uses drg/nin x3 + PLD x1 to damage it. learn to use high jumps and super jumps and angon cycle
always have 3 shadows up etc and THF for TH and TA PLD of course
other job are curers and stunners.
maybe 10 is enough to win with ease?
something like:
PLD DRG DRG RDM WHM BRD
rdm/drk rdm/drk THF BRD
If you're having that much problem with damage intake, you're doing something wrong. With a good -PDT set and cocoon/tacos/protect Tyger was hitting me for low 100s, and couldn't even break 200 on the few crits he got in. That's if he even got past zephyr mantle which seems to have a surprisingly high proc rate, and a few times I was even able to recast it while he was still taking the first one off. Tourbillion wasn't doing much damage either, around 400 IIRC. Fulmination is a bit nastier, but I have never ever died because of it.Originally Posted by Yugl
I would like to see that since I never used a PDT/Tacos for my run, but I had Cocoon and Protect. I also sported a Kubira which increased the damage. However, I do remember hits for ~300DMG and Tourbillion for 1k DMG. Fulmination didn't hit for much damage though (Can't tell if I dodged any hits though). Never used mantle either because it was an all out set up (Aside from Auto-Refresh).
Yes if your tank wanted to move behind for each CB you could do that but it would be unnecessary and potentially risky. A cannonball build already has the makings of a wonderful defense reduction set, if you invested in some PDT pieces to swap into after each CB and have zephyr mantle up you would probably be doing your plds a favour in pulling hate for a bit.
Your plds really won't benefit at all from SATA CB except at start of fight, once they begin capping all it will do is prevent tyger from looking at them at all, which if done correctly could be a good thing.
