    XFX HD4850

    Vidya Card time.

    Newegg.com - XFX HD-485X-ZDFC Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Thoughts? Newegg has a 10% discount on all Video cards going today, and I wanted to finally jump on one. I have zero reason to list the current card I'm using just because it's so god awful.

    Thanks in advance.

    So... that's a pretty good deal/card then?

double life-time warranty is enough of a kicker to go.

I put two of the 512MB version of that card in a system I build for a friend not too long ago. Solid card I'd say. Price isn't bad, a month or so ago the 512MB was $120 pre-rebate ($100 after). I personally own, and put in my brother's system, the Gigabyte 4850 with a Zalman cooler...but the dual slot with the XFX is probably the better solution.

A single 4850 is still a solid card. If you're wanting to max out games at 1920x1200 or something, it may start to come up short, though I've played some reasonably modern titles (Mass Effect, Fallout 3) at that res with highest, or at least, pretty high settings (with little or no AA) just fine. If you have a smaller LCD, and so run things at 1280x1024 or something, you'll probably still be able to run most anything on the market maxed out, outside of AA settings perhaps.

Very nice value, I've been nothing but pleased with mine, and others I've used.

Awesome to know. I actually have a 22" Acer LCD (just got it a few days ago), so I was going to try and run games at 1680x1050, but I didn't think I'd honestly go in and play Crysis, or GTA4 or anything at super max settings. I did want to at least be able to run other things better compared to what I run them with, and honestly, a 3870 could probably accomplish that. I'm using a Radeon 9500Pro, Lol.
