Game Over, grats Brazil.
lol we suck. aki is a prophet.
Put in Adu and Torres please! Need firepower now.
I love screaming GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL IRL :D
What ever happened to Freddy Adu? I remember hearing his name a few years ago.. Does he suck or is he still a young rookie learning?
Good game, well worth watching.
Congrats, Brazil. Also, you can blame Reese Davis for USA's collapse in the second half. He had to state a stat that in like 90something matches, USA's only lost a two goal lead after halftime once. He also stated that sort of fact with the USA being up a goal on Italy and how it was rare for opponents to come back. Second half, both opponents scored three goals on the USA. Thanks Reese Davis!
Assistant Referee's move "vertically" and if you've seen the position at all you'd realize that it was incredibly stupid for him to miss the goal. The "last" defender was 1/4 meter away from the goal line and in that position, an offside was out of question(even if a Brazilian grew wings and flew in between the last defender, he could see that from the goal line). That's exactly the time you get down to the goal line.
In Europe, that referee would be escorted by the police outside of the stadium if it was a Champions League game or something important like that.
Kaka best player in the cup <3 best in the world imo (he's so hot too >_>)
Meh.. the world turned the old way, dreams can't happen, etc. etc. -___-;
FU Brazil and that pathetic coreography toward Jesus at the end
I like how they all turned their shirts back to front. Did they foget their own names? Are they worried the legions of fans the world over creaming their pants forgot their names?
Lols were had at Kaka too, the commentators on the Brititsh Broadcast didn't think he deserved best player of Tourney.
Hope the US realises how well it's done and doesn't let the loss get to them too much.
If the last defender is 1/4 a meter off the goal line, the linesman is 1/4 a meter off the goal line. If you're 1/4 a meter off the goal line on the sideline on that play, you still see pole between you and the ball.
There is no "if you don't think there's a danger of offsides, you can watch something else." The linesman stays with the last defender. (or the 2nd to last, if the goalie is pulled)
Anyway, I'd hate to see instant replay in soccer without a hell of a lot more cameras for exactly that reason-- sure, that view looks like it probably crossed, but to declare that definitive is ridiculous, you could only see about 2/3 of the ball. Every last millimeter has to cross, and that was too close to change the call rather it had been declared a goal or not.
Anyway, I'm sure the refs realized it wasn't going to matter. Every single ball at that point, the U.S. was assuming Brazil was going to win and not even trying, even if it was a 10 yard pass directly to them, while Brazil was successfully challenging about 95% of touches.
FIFA - Law of Assistant Referees

I'm not making these rules up, lol. If you are lazy enough the click on the link, and unable to see the linesman because of the image quality, in both situations, Assistant Referee is right on top of the goal line regardless of the positions of the defenders and in first image, ball has "crossed the line" but did not hit the net. In the second image, its on the line but did not cross it. Last defender rule, as clearly seen in the image, applies ONLY for the attacking team(there are 2 linesmen, i.e in the recent incident, 2nd assistant referee was supposed to stay with the last defender of Brazil). Wherever you've read the information you misunderstood it completely.
