^- I've been there.
DUDE, YOU AREN'T SERIOUSLY GOING TO TELL ME THE BOHMIAN FORMULATION IS EXACTLY AS USEFUL AS THE COPENHAGEN INTERPRETATION, ARE YOU?
I feel your pain. My job was moved out of state several months ago. I was doing middle level financial analyst type work with the company for 5 years, but my college degree isn't from that specific area. I can't find work for which my work history qualifies me because since the job market is so tight employers are all tacking on "degree in accounting or business administration required" etc, however I can't get calls back for lower type positions because I'm "overqualified."
South Jersey is admittedly shitty for my degree type (BFA in writing) and I have experience in production assistance, video editing, and research from my time at NFL Films and the Philadelphia Film Office. Freelance work sucks and I have a hard time landing it since I don't live in Philadelphia anymore. I'd love to get a real job at NFL Films, but word has it that they've put a lock on hiring (and laid off 10% of the company when my internship ended). I have a connection at ESPN, but they pay peanuts and work you to the bone. Plus, I'd have to relocate and can't really afford to do that because my savings have been eaten away paying student loans while being unable to find a job. If having a degree from art school weren't bad enough, the recession has made jobs a lot more competitive and most of my experience isn't very useful.
So I'm trying to work my way into another job field and will probably need more education. Pbtpbptbpbt. I'm also trying to develop a comic book/webcomic/graphic novel with my girlfriend who's a professional illustrator freelance (who's also trying to find steady work).
