i herd semen cures breast cancer
I know you're not serious(and possibly retarded), but that honestly wouldn't be the weirdest in thing in a chemotherapy drug.
Before I started chemo, I was asked and tested for allergies to some of the weirder ingredients, i.e. Chinese hamster ovarian products(I'm still not sure what exactly these would be)...
But I have brain cancer, not breast.
inb4 "cool story bro"
If you look at it that way the world is at peace united over his death. Nothing is in the news except for his death.
damn dude, fuck this shit, didn't you hear? MICHAEL JACKSON DIED
I'd love to see them really nail a way to effectively treat cancer - ovarian in particular scares me utterly utterly shitless... my gran died of it, and there's so much room in there for a tumour to grow before it starts to show any symptoms that the one they removed from her was the size of a fucking watermelon and she died a bloody hideous death really. It's the one thing I'm absolutely terrified of.
Not the first time they've tried medicine that looks promising for cancer as far as I know, though, it's great that they're onto this, the more results the better.
This is the probably the "poster child" of cancer wonder drugs if you are interested (for treating CML):

Unfortunately most of these cancer drugs will eventually fail trials but every once in awhile you get lucky.
Hey that's the drug I take! 600mg/daily.
Diagnosed August, 2001, still in remission as of this spring.
Clifs: CML = chronic myelogenous leukemia. Before Gleevec the 5 year survival rate was, iirc, 38%. Now it's 90%+. Side effects are mostly mild- nausea, aches and pains, swelling. Certainly better than death.
Life with a treatable cancer is about hanging in there and hoping medicine progresses faster than the disease. There are already successors to Gleevec lined up for when/if it no longer works for me. That's really all you can ask for when it comes to something like cancer. With luck and a shitload of money, we'll find similar drugs to treat other forms.
The "inb4 I Am Legend" thing kinda makes me lul. I've got a list of people I hope to kill if I ever get zombie powers from the drugs. Watch your back if you troll me on BG, yo.
You know I find it amazing that we're not getting constant updates on this. Perhaps if the cancer medicine had been developed from a certain type of pig...
It's no surprise that they're touting another cancer breakthrough. Once they actually do something that is completely effective we can start trumpeting the walls of Jericho. Cancer is a normal mutation that just gets out of control so unless they find a medicine that contains it long enough to destroy it, it just won't do.
And Virtue, congratulations on your remission! I've lost 5-6 family members to cancer (that could have been avoided if detected earlier... I think it was melanoma).
