Platinum-bearing moblins in Newton specifically do not get their coin back when despawned/repopped.

Gold-bearing goblins in Bibiki repop with coin after being depopped.

It's not all mobs, but the platinum-bearing moblins in newton were being farmed and depopped heavily by RMT (and others), and so SE did an update and made it so that moblins with platinum didn't get their coin back after depop.

Ive done once when was bored as rng/nin in the 50cap zone with sleep bolts. died first time, won 2nd. Just have shadowbind always ready if shit gets nasty. But honestly, you need to be really bored to do this way >>

I've used smn/whm. It works pretty well.

I've soloed them in A01 with BST, just set up the first few birds in a row and kite from one to the other. The third or fourth bird will kill the drake and if not you can just bail out the displacement and come back. I don't engage them, the TP moves are bad bad bad news.

I've also duod them as BRD + NIN in B01 and it was really easy, took like 10minutes, much faster than the BST solo strat. NIN+WHM is also great for Uninvited Guests so you can get the scale, do UG and the rivernewort quest and still have change from an hour. ^^
