3 gigs of FFXI pron vids? I didn't even think there was that much out there. I gotta start keeping up.
And while it's not an obsession, and it's certainly not embarrassing, I am a massive Transformers fan. Comics, cartoons, the movies and most especially the toys. I mainly focus on the newer ones as the originals were just good looking bricks, but I've got a fairly large collection from all the lines from the past 25 years. Jazz is definitely my favorite and he's the one who I've got the most versions of. And yes, I do transform them so they ain't just sitting on a shelf collecting dust.
But other then that, I've got a fairly decent collection of other types of toys and action figures too, from newer G.I. Joes and stuff to anime figures and the like. And while I've got a decent game, dvd, music and comic collection going, none of them compare to all the damn toys I got.
Not really embarassin but....
Drum and Bass - I have to have everything perfect in my itunes, album art included.
Shutter Shades - I just love 'em, like to the point were i collect them.
it's horrible ingame videos with worms and such, i should delete them but..i just can't
I really fucking embarrassed with mine now. Not only because I misunderstood/tl;dr the entire thread to see people were only talking about collections not personal querks, but because it's really weird to read it ; ;
Well if it makes you feel better JP I have an obsession with even numbers or numbers divisible by 5. I hate having anything in odd numbers. In video games and real life I go out of my way to stick to even numbers or multiples of 5. When I change the volume on my tv I always stop on an even number.
Also in a slightly less obsessive way I always avoid stepping on lines on the ground. Like when I am walking down a sidewalk with evenly spaced big squares in the concrete I will count how many steps it takes to walk across one square and make sure it takes me the same number of steps to get across every square after that so I never step on the line between squares.
Everyone has their thing. Don't feel bad.
Wouldnt you love to read some psychological journal explaining it Zoo? I would.
I'm not devout at all. I just HAVE to continually bless myself compulsively. I have to leave the room if people are around just to do it. No reason at all.
Yeah I have always wondered where things like that come from. I mean really there is no connection with my obsession and anything that happened to me that I know I just noticed it. Also another one that really has no connection is I cannot drink out of a water bottle without turning it over first. For some reason it bugs me to see the condensation on the top area so I turn the water bottle over to get rid of the "fog".
The funny part is I am not an obsessive compulsive person in any way outside of one or two small things that are so subtle that no one around me really notices.
Absolutely the same. No other hint of any obsessive compulsion other than this thing.
that is definitely an obsessive trait, possibly OCD but I doubt it. I'd read the wiki entry on OCD if you haven't already, it's fascinating. I didn't know that there were more disorders than just plain old OCD, but there are, and they have different qualifying traits.
I think most people have one or two obsessive traits without actually being OCD, I don't know anyone who doesn't have weird quirks. I used to be pretty bad, as in...
- blessing myself, did that too. even though I wasn't religious.
- I used to be obsessed with the number four, I don't remember most of what I did but the one that sticks out is when I swallowed I had to swallow a multiple of four times, either four or eight or sixteen. not for food, just for saliva.
- I used to touch my face obsessively whenever I felt the slightest itch or anything like that.
- I used to be obsessed with things going "up." it's hard to explain this one, but for example, when I saved games on a game with three save slots that were aligned vertically, the first had to be at the top, then the next on the bottom, then the next in the middle, then the top again, and so on. but it wasn't just game saves, I'd do that with other things too. I felt that way because heaven was upwards and hell is down >_> strange I know.
and probably other things I'm not remembering, there had to have been more. I don't do any of those things anymore, the only thing I'm really OCD about now is leaving the apartment. I can lock the door but I won't believe it's locked until I've tried the handle at least twice. I used to be even worse, like I'd get out of my apartment building and down the block and then feel like I hadn't locked the door and have to come running back to check it. I also have a super-paranoid fear that I've left something flammable too close to the pilot light, even though if that were the case it would have probably caught on fire before I left since I rarely use the stove in the mornings.
so yeah... you ain't the only one.
Oh man I hate the thing about locking the door and flammable shit being left on. I had a rather large portion of my house burn down when I was a kid and ever since I am super fucking paranoid about anything that could short out and cause a fire. If I go into "autopilot" mode when I am getting ready for work I will forget if I turned off the tv, light, stove, locked the door, when I leave the house and I have to return to check everything.
I won't even leave the dishwasher or the drier running when no one is home because I am afraid a fire will start.
Thanks for the insight Yuri, I'm glad you did it too. Noone wants to be alone.
Fuck me, why am I saying this. Oh well, it feels good to get out. Absolutely noone knows this but when I can't bless myself in public I pretend to scratch my forehead, then stomach, then shoulders....to hide it. That's when I HAVE TO or ...it almost hurts in a weird way. Absolutely a compulsion.
