I'll always prefer the JP versions because they tend to keep the chant the same or at least similar... there are some exceptions but, w/e.
Mystic Cage is his cool move anyhow!

I prefer the JP ones 99% of the time too.
So in the topics of undubs. Do you think anyone would be interested in Tales of Symphonia undub?
I've been working on making it since no one else has, and it's pretty much done except that getting voice back into skits is being a real bitchand I still have to test it to make sure I didn't skip anything, but I've been too lazy to play Symphonia lol
I was almost fully satisfied with Symponia's dub... I don't think I'd feel comfortable with an undub for that one!
That's why I'm trying to get the skits voiced at the very least, because then that would make it worth it, imo
Meh, I didn't like Symphonia's dubs that much. Lloyd, Kratos and Yggdrasil were the only good ones IMO. Raine was ok too. The VA who does Sheena is a good VA, but for some reason she kinda sucked at Sheena. She was great as Naomi in Metal Gear though.
YouTube - Tales of Series Battle Arrange Tracks - Battle Organization
Never played Tales of Rebirth either (JP onry >_<) but damn does it have a cool battle theme. And this arranged version makes it sound more like a Star Ocean battle theme, haha.
Everyone talks about Battle Organization but as far as I am concerned it's far overshadowed by Die is Cast!

I've only played Symphonia before Vesperia(which only came out here a week ago), but Symphonia was awesome and is the best selling one to date iirc. Enjoying Vesperia alot too so far!
I loved Symphonia 1 and 2
Vesperia comes a close 2nd for me
Phantasia was fun too.
I have yet to play Abyss, Eternia, and I tried legendia and thought it was pretty terrible.
Tales of Destiny 1

Need I say more?
I have to admit that I don't feel that the original ToP or ToD really aged well... ToD:R is great though!
Of course both games were great for their time but the oldest Tales game I can still fully enjoy is Eternia... which as I've stated happens to be my favorite. No coincidence I assure you.
Actually I played the original ToD last year and I thought it was still great. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to oldies. Although for ToP, I can't play the SNES version, ugh. Lol.
Although since I've played the remake of Tales of Destiny, I'll probably never go back to the original <_<;
I am debating buying a Wii for Tales of Graces... shit looks pro.
But it's one of the few games I care about on Wii, not sure if it warrants a purchase.
Now, if it gets ported to 360 or PS3... it'll be mine.
I've played quite a few of them. . I still have ToD2 on my PS2, but I stopped halfway, then my PS2 stopped reading my imports. It's fixed now, but man, I hate restarting in the middle..
Olbohn, I've been looking for some good ones too (or wall scrolls) but with no luck.
I liked Eternia, but for some reason I just felt most of the characters in that game were..kinda boring. Once I got over that though, the game overall was great (and long as hell).
I played Tales of Symphonia II and I hated it. One of he things I love in Tales games is the world exploration. Symphonia II did not offer this at all and the story made me feel embaressed just playing it. When I first heard they were making a sequel I was hoping for the story of Yggdrasil and Kratos. That could have been an epic story and have been an epic story (well more of a prequel then sequel).
Legendia was awful until you play the post game. But honestly I would much rather a weak post game content than a weak game and amazing post-game. Symphonia was good but many of the dungeons got too similar after a while. Eternia I think did the very best job in terms of a Tales game I have played thus far. Abyss was also excellent but the second half of the story was a little far-fetched (if you went with it, you would love the game).
I would recommend renting a Wii if you can for Tales of Graces/Arc Rise Fantasia as both of those look like they will be solid games and come out around the same time. But if your thinking about buying a Wii my roommate is looking to sell his - PM me if you think you might be interested.
Hmm.. I dunno, there were parts of Tales of Symphonia II I liked. Emil was probably one of the most fun main characters to control. But I can also see why people hated it.
I agree with you on Legendia. The main game was kind of a snore, but the epilogue chapters were downright freaking amazing.
Only thing I liked about Emil was Ain Soph Aur, lol...
I liked the crazy laugh that came with it (if you listen to him in the Japanese version, he sounds slightly off his rocker when he uses it). . but even then that was a pretty lame extension.
I liked how easily he pulled off Air Combos. .which I didn't figure out until I let the CPU control him for a hot moment and he was pulling off all this crazy shit.
I dunno, the game HAD potential, but it went to waste in many areas. They did want to maintain the world map as it was done in Symphonia, but something about production deadlines being rushed made them scrap that. I'll see if I can find the actual link/interview that mentions that.
