The BBC is being open with the fact that all the "he's dead!" reports are just from TMZ and nobody else. They are saying that TMZ have been accurate in the past though. Gripping television nonetheless.

As much as I am always leary of anything TMZ says....they were the first to report Heath Ledger had died too and other news agencies said he was found unresponsive in the apartment...

Plus if they had said he died, but he didn't then there's no doubt in my mind they'd get sued so fast and shut down for pulling this...someone from the hospital had to have leaked the story to them.

L.A. Times says coma but they're not terribly encouraging that he's going to come out of it.

They're saying he was not breathing and was rushed to the hospital on TV. TMZ's report is the only one saying he's dead, not believing that until there's an official confirmation.
