BYOND - Make & Play Multiplayer Games

Has anyone ever played any of the games on this site? They are all terrible graphically but there are some gems. Co-worker showed me something called Space Station 13 today and we ended up getting another co-worker to play with us for a good part of the day. It was hilariously fun.

If we could get a BG server going maybe that'd be awesome, but for now playing on the Goon run servers is fine too.

Yeah, friend I showed this said the same thing. I've really taken a liking to this though, there is so much you can do, just this afternoon I joined a game as an assistant and worked my way up killing people to 'Head of Personnel' and sabotaged a bunch of areas of the ship and escaped on the shuttle before the 'monkey snipers' got me.

Yea, I was looking around for card simulator games and found Duel Monsters Unlimited which is rather fantastic how it was done. Was curious to what other great games there were on this site

If you find any cool games, by all means, post them. I've tried a few like games based on anime like Death Note/Bleach/Naruto but they've all seemed to be pretty bad, heh.

I used to be a regular here. It's a free program where others make games and others play them or beta test them. Games usually never were finished but there were a few ones that I remember being well.

Megaman and Zero where you played as any megaman character going up the ranks and there were PC bosses that logged in daily when you killed them you got their power and etc. It was basically just a megaman game where everyone could kill each other. A Few special bosses that had abilities you couldnt get and were just there for fun (Protoman, Sigma head and etc) Eventually it turned into an arena based thing with many different people and different moves for each to keep it fresh. Now named Megaman Wars and its an arena battle

Final Fantasy Legacy a complete FFIV remake where you picked one character from FFIV and could party with any other character you only built up that character, had no PVP but was pretty true to the game in terms of progression with other things added in to make multi play viable.

Final Fantasy the Hunting grounds, same as the above except had a unique story.

Dragon Warrior RP, was a really popular role playing game in its time where events happened daily.

Castle a really fun Tower Defense map only up to four players.

Duel Monsters Online. Probably the best game evers if your into yugioh, I wasn't at that point but playing a free card game without having to buy the card was pretty fun. It has almost all the cards might be outdated now but its really well done. I think he ran out of room to code more stuff which is why he stopped as BYOND only gives you so much space. Probably the only complete game on byond.

Last and probably the best

Dragon Warrior Online - It is a REALLY well done game of Dragon Warrior, the same exact battle system and all that fun stuff. Different plot though and they had GMs be story characters that didn't intervene with the story but it was just so they could look pretty and have better stats.

Incursion - A really nice online risk game.

Final Fantasy Online - a Sort of MMO Type game with skilling up magic as you go along and free world, I suggest you try this one out. It's based around FF1's characters. Has PVP and PVE but in my opinion has a really high difficulty curve. It's kind of like Diablo 2 with FF1 characters and skilling up imo.

It's pretty much just turned into a few original games and a bunch of DBZ clones now. Reason that is, is because someone released his source code and everyone just copied it. Same for Naruto

Fun fact but the makes of Final Fantasy Legacy was actually sued by SE but he won the case because making it online and multiplayer made it different enough that SE couldn't claim anything. I forgot the exact legal term. Nielz wasn't the original person who made it it was someone else I can't remember his name atm.

Final Fantasy Legacy is the shit, wow. The fact that you can multiplayer a party of 5 through the entire game is awesome. I want to start a group up now...

Yeah starting a group up. Contact me if you're interested in playing, it supports parties of 5. You party with 4 other people and play through the game, there is world/party/guild/etc. style chat and all the parts of FF4 are there (skills/stats/spells/abilities/equipment/bosses/etc.) I think it'd be really fun. You can download the BYOND Client and make an account and then you simply use the "Play Now" button on the top of the Final Fantasy Legacy page and follow through to access the game itself. Once I've got 4 other people we can get started, maybe even start with a party of 2 or 3, I was soloing outside Baron easily as a Lunarian so it can't be too difficult to play as a party of less than 5.

I have two others at the moment, you should join us though, we need a Rosa White Mage or DD that can target multiple enemies. Currently it's: Paladin, Young Summoner and Ninja. Send me a message on AIM or MSN and I'll add you and get you next time we play. We'll need to start new characters and level you up a bit though since we're about 25 atm.

check out the goldeneye mod for half life.

it's about as close as you'll get, but that's not diminishing the quality of the game at all.
