The data may not be as polarizing as 1980, but it's still like 2-3 a month for a gay man compared to 6-8 in a lifetime for the heterosexual

hold the fucking phone, I'm supposed to be fucking 2-3 new people a month? this is bullshit, I'm nowhere near that. I want my gay club dues refunded, this is fucking bullshit.

and I know plenty - PLENTY - of straight people who've had more than 6-8.

the only studies I've ever seen that quote this kind of data, and I'm not making this up, have been the ones I've found on godhatesfags.com

somebody just stereotyped me based on my sexuality, now I know how every black person in the history of humanity feels.

    lol seriously

And since when have straight people become saints? Yeah, cause only a very small percent of them are all "man I need to find me some pussy tonight" or "I tapped that last night" or whatever the fuck people say.

Sexuality is sexuality, some people prefer relationships and monogamy, some people don't give a shit and just like to go out and have fun, gay or straight has nothing to do with it.

that's why it's average. If you do a google search I'm sure you can find a few studies here and there from pretty good sources; I'm honestly too lazy to do it myself.

and I'm too lazy to call you out for being full of it, and honestly a little bit prejudiced (notice I say prejudiced, not bigoted - I don't think you hate gays, just that your concepts of what a gay man is are absolutely fucking ridiculous).

there's no way it averages out to 2-3 a week. I'm sure some people are having that much, I'm sure some are having more, but there are way too many celibate, monogamous, or nearly-celibate gay men for that to be the average.

also you have to keep in mind that things are changing. gay men are continually moving more and more towards monogamy. the lifestyle used to be a lot more promiscous, but HIV has curbed that a LOT, and condoms haven't made up the difference, plus as gay marriage becomes more and more of a reality, gay men are starting to settle down.

I won't deny that gay men are on average more promiscuous than straight men, but to nowhere near the degree you seem to think we are. and that's only because we can be, if the average woman were as slutty as the average man, straight people would be exactly the same. not to say that women can't be sexually loose, just that it's less likely because of societal consequences and traditional gender roles.

I don't know whether we're still arguing that gay people (among others) have more sex more often or not.

You'd think with the hyper-masculine culture machine set up to chew women up and spit them out, intense promiscuity would be seen as a good thing.

Maybe they're just jealous of all the ass gays get?

I think you're right on the money there. most straight guys wish they were sucking 2-3 cocks a week.

No one is rejecting the idea that gay people generally tend to have more partners than male exclusive heterosexuals, right? I would think it hard to deny that. I mean, you can even quickly conclude that with simple logic.

no, I just think 2-3 a week is far overshooting it as an average.

In a study of sexual behavior in homosexuals and heterosexuals, the researchers found that of gay and bisexual men, 24% had one male partner in their lifetime, 45% had 2-4 male partners, 13% had 5-9 male partners, and 18% had 10 or more sexual partners, which produces a mean of less than 6 partners. (The statistics I did by myself using the data presented, which is presented as a percentage of total males interviewed, both gay and straight (p. 345)--they can be verified yourself by looking at the numbers given in the paper)(Fay; n=97 gay males of 1450 males total). In a parallel study, a random sample of primarily straight men (n=3111 males who had had vaginal intercourse; of the total sample of n=3224 males, only 2.3% had indicated having had sex with both men and women), the mean number of sexual partners was 7.3, with 28.2% having 1-3 partners, and 23.3% having greater than 19 partners (Billy). This data indicates that gay men may have fewer number of sexual partners than heterosexuals.

    O rly?

I'm gay and I've yet to even have sex yet, even at 24.

Honestly, I'd advise finding actual studies that aren't from biased christian sources or the like. There's plenty of studies done, and they all find that gay men are pretty much the same as normal men as far as sexual partners go, with one only showing a very small higher average for gay men. (they only checked gay men in metro areas though, where men in general will usually be slightly higher, whereas the straight men checked were more randomized.)

From the same page you probably quoted, and for some reason, quoting from a page made by homosexuals is not bias. Let's cut the shit about where sources come from and focus more on whether the sources are accurate or not. Looks at this commentary:

The discrepancy between the mean and median is indicative of a small sub-population of gay males who tend towards high rates of sexual partners, skewing the mean, while the majority of gay men tend to have rates about the same as heterosexual males.
So apparently, there is a group of bad bad gays who skew the rates and make homosexuals look bad by seeming more promiscuous, yet the same argument can be made that the high rate of celibate homosexual men skews the rate and makes homosexuals seem more monogamous than they really are. This is a fine example of selective focus.

This is just another example of heteronormative behaviour. You get gays trying to reject other gays because they don't manifest the heterosexual ideal of monogamy, and they try to make them out to be some sort of fringe group. The whole argument about whether homosexuals are more promiscuous or not implies that promiscuity is bad, without even proving that in the first place. Nothing makes it more obvious than the way the same page makes being celibate out to be a good thing and doesn't question its skewing effects:

In another set of studies, the first (n=2664) showed that gay men had an average of 6.5 sexual partners in the past 5 years. In fact, the authors of this paper report that "homosexual and bisexual men are much more likely than heterosexual men to be celibate"
The same page never comments that celibacy in gays is most logically due to those who reject their interest for men, and does not even question whether this is healthy.

Last I checked, the homosexual groups at least weren't constantly posting biased bullshit. They have good reason to tell the facts properly, and that is because there's no logical basis for any of this religious propaganda bullshit. Science has been a trustworthy ally to them, and I doubt they would want to antagonize the science community that's been a literal lifesaver to countless LGBTI people.

I'd rather place my trust in the gay groups for telling true facts than christian ones who have a large history of making shit up or taking things out of context.

But then again, I guess it should be expected coming from a group who's beliefs are founded on a book of made up shit.

I don't really give much of a damn if gays are more horny than straight guys, except for making sure STDs aren't passed around is concerned. But 2-3 partner's a week as average is complete bullshit, and THAT is common sense.

So basically, according to you, any source that is used by homosexuals is not as biased as those used by people who oppose homosexuality, because homosexuals are science friendly, and you are also gay. And this is why we should focus on that infant rhetoric and not on... whether the source is accurate or not.

    That's really scientific.

Anyway, there are more promiscuous homosexuals than there are promiscuous heterosexuals. If anyone wants to point out why that's bad, considering how ambiguous the term promiscous is, go right ahead. Taking into consideration what kind of sexual activity is engaged in and how one goes about it.
