DDR3 is the newest out there, and the most expensive, some of the newer processors (like the i7) require DDR3 RAM.

So out of the things I picked replacing my ram with yours are things compatible?

For the case how do I know if it has room for extra fans and does the case have preset places that a fan could go because I don't know anything about proper cooling.

That processor won't go with that motherboard, you either need to change the mobo or the processor. It's an intel motherboard so you will need a intel processor that uses a LGA 775 socket, or you need a different motherboard that has a AM2/2+ compatible socket

Any suggestion on who makes the better cpu motherboard combination.

That's a debate for the fanboys, but AMD's are usually cheaper. The graphics card you chose is as nVidia, which only work in SLI on Intel mobo's, and Crossfire for AMD mobo's (unless I'm mistaken). But this is only a problem if you intent on using more than 1 graphics card, should be fine for single cards. I'm currently using an nVidia card on an AMD board/processor

Yeah, although you don't need to go that expensive, those allow 1066 DDR2 RAM with AM2+ processors.

Since I kept this computer for 5~ years I don't think I will care to upgrade too much until I grad and get that chedda.

I was thinking I could just transfer my current HD with XP into the new computer.

XP 32bit? Yeah shouldn't need more than 2gb RAM then, all should be well.

Do you know if cases have premade spots for extra fans or if you have to drill holes or whatever youself.

Cases come with fans most of the time, but I can't read the specifications of the case you listed as it comes up blank? From the title it sounds as if it has 1 fan in the case, a rear 120mm one.

The PSU link you listed doesn't work for me, but I searched and I think this is the same one Ultra LS600 Lifetime Series 600W Power Supply - ATX, SATA-Ready, PCI-Express at TigerDirect.com

In the specifications it says it has a 120mm fan in it, yeah.

Probably want to add a fan to draw air in at the front or something, but most cases will have places to add fans.

My thread in tech isn't getting a response to my last question so lets see if I can find out here.

I copied, for the most part, a 500$ gaming pc that's on a website and found the parts on ncix. Ncix can put the computer together for you and test for compatibility problems for a price. I am going to do this but I'm not sure if you can run those sorts of tests if you have no hard drive in the computer (I didn't order or need one). The assembling and testing is non refundable so I don't want to pay to have it done and then find out it can't be done unless I order a HD as well (I'm thinking the tests may require software installed to test for problems)

Title of tech thread "no bootable partition in table"

I got my computer today and it worked fine when I first turned it on. After installing a dvd drive (didn't buy it with one) I got the message in the title upon start up. I thought it was a problem of the computer trying to boot from a flash drive I had plugged in as that's what it seemed to say in the bios (or whatever that place is that pressing delete in startup is, it was in the boot up or something like that menu)

Restarting with the vista cd in did nothing so I just unplugged the dvd drive and the computer started fine. Does the computer think that my dvd drive is my main boot drive or whatever and is trying to load from there?

How do I fix this and teach my computer a lesson about disobedience.

Yea I had that problem recently it's looking at the wrong drive to read, Mine was pointing at the wrong HDD, and would only boot with the XP cd, Change your Boot config in the BIOS menu until everything is all gravy, dont forget to hit Exit and Save Settings in BIOS
