Thank you!
COR with BLM over melee = fail
WHM BRD COR DRK SAM WAR is going to be your strongest DD party.
As stated more than once, all support jobs for all parties are interchangeable. It really depends on what jobs the LS in question has available.
Two questions:
1. What's your take on a four Melee PT + 2 BLM/Tank PT?
2. If we have four melee PTs, wouldn't it be safer to have two of those PTs zerg the Behe NM while the rest run far back?
2 BLM/4 Melee parties works. Like I said, balanced group is always good. Tank party is not necessary.
And your Behemoth strategy would work, yes. Assuming Meteor doesn't hit the entire Chamber (I'm not sure the range)
Your 'perfect' setup was WHM RDM BRD DD3, which is what I'm advising against as WHM BRD COR DD3 is much stronger. I know you said support was interchangeable, but it isn't your 'ideal' group. Of course, you are limited based on what your linkshell has available, but I would never put a COR with BLM before melee in Einherjar.
I use PLDs so when we get Behe I have them tank it and BLM bomb it a little with melee far back. Meteor won't hit them, so when it is down 60~70%ish we have fully buffed melee parties run in to start zerg. This basically is 1-2 less meteor for melee to eat which pretty much guarantees a win.
Your method would also work in a similar fashion - one set starts zerg then the other set runs in when it is at ~60ish right after a meteor.
Regardless of wheter peeps agree on the strats it's still a good write for the LSes getting started in Ein or those struggling with tier 3s.
My 2 cents for someone who might be taking the LJ post as the bible is that you don't even need to take BLMs, we usually roll with 4xmelee party (4xDD/NIN with WHM or RDM and BRD or COR for support), "tank" party (PLD/RDM who pulls and tanks boss, main assist WAR, our lone BLU and RDM/DRK WHM BRD or COR support) and last party for dualboxed feather bishes and latecomers. We use two assists for the lesser mobs unless they're super AoE spammy ones like skeletons. Also, not only don't let them die but haste the fucking BRDs for lullaby timer's sake, I swear this is like rocket science for some mages when they first start Ein with us. And amen to what Belkin said about Repose. Our DRKs are very good in remembering that they also have the spell Stun and we bring one BLU who AoE debuffs everything with spells like Frightful Roar and uses Temporal Shift when the initial pulls come in. Head butt works on the minions as well.
We melee zerg and BRD rota every boss, including Behemoth. Curaga III/IV after every meteor and it's np. The chair guy pandemonium warden-wannabe is pulled away by the PLD/RDM who keeps him in a corner while melees raep the demons. We've found that for the chair guy's demons it's better to use two or three assists because they resist sleeps so much and wake up fast. Less demons you have beating up the squishy bards and other sleepers the easier it is, melees can take hits a lot better. Rest is like Belkin wrote but without the BLMs.
Good read belkin, thankyou. I have a random noob question though maybe someone knows; sorry if this is a little off topic.
Does banish works on einherjar undeads? that is, does it increased dmg multiplier by 1.5x as wiki states?
Pretty good guide, I sent the link to my LS leads and hopefully we do better in T3 Einherjar. x.x Two losses one right after the other is disheartening. And hopefully prompt them to change the /nin to Einherjar thing for DD's.
Good read. I have some experience, but I still found new things in the blog.
I'm personally not a big fan of making a guide for 30-36 people as thats just overkill and you should really have zero problems with any mobs or bosses :/
That being said, 2 things, I pull all our zones on brd/nin and like to think it to be the best puller unless you do the pld/blm thing.
Secondly, I can't vouch for whm/rdm/brd/3melee being the best setup, the only reason for a second mage is for more -na support which cor/whm can do just fine.
If I have 20-24 people, my setups involve 3 melee pts of whm/brd/cor/3 melee with the brds rotating and 1 blm pt which I'm in as the pulling brd and I don't rotate.
I also can't agree with the people that say no BLM's. I don't bring drks, I bring as many SAM and WAR as I can and a DRG as my melee. Stuns are invaluable for several mob types, also having an ES silence rotation for shadow dragons is probably not even "good" as much as it is vital. It's still the only mob/boss that causes a loss.
I do agree with your hierarchy of T3 bosses though, I think the main thing I'd say about our KB method is madrigal has to end up in the song list, normally we just double march and double minuet for all pts and go for most bosses, but adding in a madrigal seems to work wonders for it.
