PL + BST = Not a real BST.
Hang your head in shame, you disgrace the name of Beastmaster.

PL + BST = PL doesn't really have much to do if your pet is tanking most everything. So I can't really support that it's much harder without one then with one, I'm doubting half those complaining have it past 40 though.
I brought a mule along to raise my ass instead of buying RRII pins on BST but I suck at multiboxing so it wasn't an issue of PL it was an issue of 'I'm cheap and those things would drastically increase the money spent." and weakness wearing >>Cure V Galka ass so I didn't wait 10 minutes.
Otherwise, most the pre-COP camps even are ridiculously easy if you level off things that explode. It was probably easier without losing your pet to vanishing when you need to regen it on further camps, now you're stuck clinging to the main pet spawn instead of being able to pull away to camp (BB's or Korri pulls further around the tree).
Big grats regardless, because even with all the subtle changes, the exp rings, FOV and whatnot, the job does take ages of grinding if you're a solo or a duo.
you should be ashamed, bst is about solo or duo, PL takes away from the added challenge and the fun. go die in a fire now please. Like these people did.
BST exp grind isn't really a challenge duo at all >_>; solo drove me batshit insane for 25 levels, but from 25>60 I had a duo on this char and it was vanilla plain, as long as one pet is always on the mob and you're somewhat competent it's nothing to worry about. We just saved our TP until rampage was sure to finish it off.
As far as NMs at 75, those 'can' be fun and challenging solo, I'd admit that, but busting on somebody for essentially dragging a paper weight around is silly, if anything give him the extra thumbs up for taking the effort to drag a mule around thats just going to stand there most the time.
I'd clap my hands at a BST pre-Gaudy harness though, as auto-refresh was always pretty nice/way more then enough to support our needs.
Holy shit you arent a true beastmaster didnt do it without PL omg BEASTMASTER WITH A POWERLEVEL OH MY I DONT EVEN
Who cares, guy just wanted to post some pictures and you guys are like vultures.
It's always nice to see pictures that don't fit into any of the threads. But I guess you guys like looking at Salvage and HNM drop pools![]()
I have to agree that I took away some of the challenge, even though Meg was more like a guard, but that wasnt the point of a pretty pictures thread.
Flame on though, especially the people without leveled BST. http://145.253.253.226/eden/images/smilies/failidea.gif
I should probably add that I did 68-75 in campaign completely. lolme http://145.253.253.226/eden/images/s.../lolhammer.gif
In the first SS you should have died and HP'ed.
Title change;
Journey of a PL bot.
lol yea was thinking the same, not a real bst till you've solo'd something!
There's quite a few aspects to BST playing though, I always stood by the fact while it "seems easy" to charm and fight, there lies the depth of the knowledge that one doesn't truely learn unless truely alone:
Common knowledge: charm, fight, kill, release pet
"Hidden" Knowledge learnt only via death/shits and giggles/no assistance of EXP but raw "field" exp (no scrolls, ENM, FoV, Campaign; besieged is OK though as it caps at what, 1500?): Monster aggro range/hate/knowing when to swap pets depending on situation/kiting/escaping/camps/zones/dodging aggro/get out of shit-hits-the-fan situations/mob behaviour/stuff not explainable by words can only be learnt on the "field"
Basically the hidden knowledge is what makes BSTs. However as others have pointed out, it's a shame this job has no proper/real/true spot in activities without relying on a weakass/expensive pet (i.e. nearly every event), making some of the hidden knowledge a bit moot. Dodging aggro can be handy I suppose, I've seen many many many many people casting Sneak/Invisible on the way to Einhenjar, despite the imp being there which is true sight, despite the undead being around at night which won't aggro at all (their sound aggro range is poor), and chigoes are harmless there.
Anyway, I see what the others are getting at, but it's still a shame it's all quite moot in the end.
A) It's a completely fake journey you aren't dead in any one of those screenshots and every BST who levelled without a PL knows the joy of eating dirt in infinite and amusing ways.
B) PL BST = fail.
C) PL BST = fail.
I feel sorry for you - you missed out on the most fun parts of BST which were always just managing to scrape out of something that looked like you were surely heading for dirt, and managing to get out of it with like 1hp left and sitting there laughing and wondering how the fuck you managed not to die on that one.
So how exactly are you going to solo anything on BST now it's 75 without your PL there to hold your hand?
Hell, I could go for a nice PL'in on my BST right about now (>0<; )
Given the option, I doubt I would pass it up.
Friend of mine leveled his BST with me in Valkurm Dunes 10-65 (with PL and cor etc).. But I got busy irl when he was level 65, so when he tried to solo the last few K's, it took him like 7 deaths to get used to "playing" BST.
oh jesus christ people bring outside healers to merit parties nowadays, should we all tell them they've disgraced everyone with real merits?
grats on a 75 charm ability, that's all bst is good for but the pics are cool
I'll switch to nin and duo it with my rdm. http://145.253.253.226/eden/images/smilies/bll.gif That's both my chars anyway.
I tried to solo Amemet on BST, but heck, what a messy way to solo things. The biggest problem is that it goes unclaimed so often and I lost it at 30% to someone else. Sadly this point is not fixable simply by skill.
I don't see a place anywhere in endgame. But then again, I can wear fluffy armor and summon silly Antlions for fun. My new town job?
