Thanks Mistress
Those different breastplate designs do definitely look like possible city-state flag symbols.
Real keen observations there.

SE and their subtlety... great deciphering though lol.
I'm having my fingers crossed until it is confirmed that it was S-E being subtle indeed and not just a bit of artistic freedom between the models (or CG only detail) lol. Visible neck pieces, dye-able and clan crested armors are things I've thought about and really wanted but wasn't expecting in XIV.

Very good idea. I am seeing some interesting ls customizations in this forum lately and can't believe I have never thought of that before. I suppose if it was ls specific, there would need to be coat of arms type things to prevent copy cats if they had the option for all armor, vs ls only not personal preference like you said.
Taking a Closer Look: Dengeki PlayStation
An in-depth look at screen shots and magazine scans that explores just how customizable one's character may become.
Added to the list.
Also, I feel it's important to note that this is the original article that Corinth and Fusion worked hard on, because there have been problems with random sites ganking content recently.

Dengeki Alpha Report, Developer Q&A
(Dengeki, September 11th)
Dengeki reports on their experience playing the alpha build and gets a few questions in with the developers.
They reveal that you can advance to a "high level" in FFXIV without engaging in a single fight. In other words, crafting jobs can just hang out and craft and will have special Guildleves designed aroudn their skills.
Craft Jobs and Battle Jobs (Warrior, Sorcerer et al) are going to be codependent. Crafting jobs may need front line bruisers to get through tough dungeons, but those same melee jobs will need crafters to repair their weapons after prolonged use. Yes, weapon durability is going to enter the world of Final Fantasy.
Weapon durability wasn't bugging me when they first mentioned it, but I hope that they aren't planning on making it to where crafters are the only way to repair items. Thanks as always for the good work Elmer.
Dengeki Online - Developer Interview
(Dengeki Online, August 29th)

A Pleasant Chat with Tanaka
(Famitsu Wave, October 2009)
Hirokazu Hamamura, the CEO of Enterbrain, sits down for a pleasant little chat with Hiromichi Tanaka. Mostly covers the basics, but Tanaka states that the world of FFXIV will be most similar to FFVI, and machines similar to Magitek Armor could very well make an appearance!
Elmer, you are not some demigod of some small forgotten pantheon of yore. You are the second coming of Jesus fucking Christ.
Corinth can be Mary.(If Corinth is even a girl, always sounded like a girl's name to me)
