Hmm, I'll be Tokyo for most of December. I might as well pick up a copy and see where this goes.

Sorry for not having read the whole thing, but from what I have seen of SE's methods, they have absolutely no problem wasting either server or client space. FFXI client -could- easily be half its current size, or less.
Also it's very clear that they let some devs work on one city, and other devs on others. My point being that it's obvious which devs are more talented (whoever worked on Windurst, for example).
In Dark age of camelot they had you open a trade window that looked similar to ffxi's trade window. The crafter would place items needed to repair said item in the trade screen, and the customer would place the item that needed repairs along with the money being charged by the crafter. The crafter would hit the repair button instead of trade. The customer needs to confirm it as well, and then the crafter does the crafting. The crafter always gets the money, and couldnt ever steal someones gear with this system. Its failsafe for both parties. But we dont know how crafting fails work with repairs or in crafting at all.
Im pissed there is no boneworking.
In the latest issue of Famitsu the Campaign Code is explained as a secret item for players in FFXIV. The magazine also shows the Gladiator and Pugilist classes.
Well, at least that puts that rumor to rest.
For people who want to see it from an official source, SE updated their FFXIII FAQ.

They are very clear that the in-game item will be available for people after official service for FFXIV starts and people purchase a copy of the game. They probably got bombarded by people asking if it would be a pass for the beta. ^^
Equipment for Gladiator and Pugilist Revealed!
(Famitsu, Nov. 12th)
A leaked scan containing some of the weapons and armor that will be available to the Gladiator and Pugilist classes.
thanks Elmer great info as always. Hope there are more pages in that issue with how mages will work would be interesting to see some of the different gear that they will get
Geez, the gladiator looks nothing more then a person in a can.
Yeah. That's how real armor looks. Unlike what whatever anime/jrpg you obsess over might have led you to believe.
This is actually really interesting stuff. Thanks for posting it Elmer.
Got the magazine, and it looks to just have the pictures + official descriptions. If the Archer/Lancer update is any indication, they should be up on the NA FFXIV site shortly.
Little blurb in the FFXIII section mentions that the Campaign Code everyone's buzzing about is only for Japan. This could mean a couple of things. While it could simply be stating that it's only in JP FFXIII copies, the only thing I want to be careful of is if people registering outside of Japan can use the code or not. If we can get clarification I'll let you know.
