    Increasing Target Switch Efficiency

Its been awhile since I've played this game. (Just returned from a break since CoP). I seem to recall that there was a way to avoid the downtime between /attack's and start DDing the next mob faster while xping. Any tips? Thank you very much for your replies in advance. (EX: While lvling a low lvl job chaining Easy Prey it will say "cant attack target" for a good 6 seconds before the game lets me engage)

    /autotarget on
and spin around to make sure you're facing the next mob.

    I've never liked autotarget.

The last WS / death animation is more than enough time to Switch Target and tab to the next duder, and allows for a lot less running in circles.

^ this, just when you're in a party, make sure you're not just like, targeting random mob in the area or something you're otherwise not targeting

This, and practice, when meriting a lot you suddenly developed a 6th sense for this.

I think the OP is talking about the old exploit where disengaging/re-engaging could be used to lessen delay between attack rounds. That was patched a couple of years ago so that now when you disengage, you cannot begin auto-attacking again until your delay has elapsed. For instance, if your delay is, say 4 seconds, and you disengage a target (whether by it dieing or by you disengaging), you won't be able to begin another auto-attack for another 4 seconds. As previously mentioned, using auto-target can help prevent this, as can manually targetting another mob before your disengage animation occurs.

Also, if you are the one to land the killing blow on a mob, and you auto-target another mob, your delay automatically elapses, leading to a near zero delay attack on the new mob.

Personally I find that if your a job that can use cheap throwing weapons, like ninja rdm or mnk, I'll have them on hand and aim for clusters of monsters.

I'll position my character while fighting in line with my next foe, and as my current one nears death I'll throw a pebble/dart at the next one, pulling it towards me and into my autotarget range.

As long as I remember to put autotarget back on, the moment I kill my first monster my character will immeaditly swap to the next.
