it's funny this popped up. In EQ2 you can change your faction through a long ass series of quests. The short time I played recently I kept thinking "why the fuck doesn't WoW do something like this?" Well now they have. Depending on how much it's going to cost, I'll probably switch my shammy to alliance...though I don't know if I remember how to play it. ><;

The more i read the more i laugh. So many people are in my boat, I thought azuremyst was fucking awful. Alot of guilds want off the server its so bad. They all, (me included), assume the grass is greener on another server, yet i read here and it seems like its happening everywhere. I wonder how many of the faction changers are doing it because they hope things will be better for them, and end up sorely dissapointed.

This is great for me i have a couple of ally alts i lvled up druing wrath just to experince the lore of the game and now i can change there faction and transfer them to my horde realm to gear them up fully. Good times.

although i will miss my human priests stupidly large boobs bouncing up and down as she runs =/

What's to stop someone from going to a different faction for a month, or two, or whatever the cooldown is on the transfer, and then going back?

Sure, they MIGHT implement something to keep this from happening, but it would be far easier to just allow race changes.

Charge a fee, make a bundle.

I mean, if you're seriously so dead-set on making the payment twice, I guess it's your money... However, I was referring to changing your in-faction race with only one payment, which they haven't said will be a possibility.

Actually, Crygll stated merely 13 days ago that paid race changes were not in the works, and gave several reasons why they weren't considering doing it.

I think this is pretty damn good, i think alot of people believe that changing factions will be instawin but i think people will be more than likley using the service just to change what their character looks like.

As an example im kinda bored of playing horde (shock i know) and i really dont feel like leveling an alliance character 1 > 80 again, being able to switch to an alliance toon would be nice for me, not only because im sick of crappy horde bgs and raid guilds but i do also get to play with a few friends who rerolled on other servers.

A lot of us could care less about the whole thinking we'll win more BGs or anything else. Some of us just played Horde for 3 years and fucking want to go back lol.

Meh, it's only a matter of time before all the QQing gets Blizz to allow race changes. All I know is I had no idea how many effing Blood Elves there were; would probably jump at the chance to switch to Undead, or something.

Remember when Blizzard said they weren't going to do faction changes? The same will happen with race changes. Fucktons of money change minds. That being said, looks like I'm finally dusting off my Gnome Mage that's been idle since mid TBC.

Edit: As soon as they allow race changes I'm switching my Warrior from Tauren to Orc ASAP. I have no fucking idea how I did the HWL grind on a goddamned Tauren (horrible animations) but I'm sure it's one of the reasons that edged me over to reroll as an Orc DK.

I love my Shaman space goat, but would make him a Horde to go play with my RL friends on Boulderfist.

The sheer amount of things that would change/need to be changed with a faction swap blow my mind though, now that I think about it. I mean, there's some things that would obviously be a direct swap, like the For the Alliance/Horde achievements, but what about race-specific or faction-specific items? If I change my Draenei to a Tauren, will I still have my pain-in-the-ass-to-get Argent Tournament Nightsaber, for example? Even if I still "have" it, I might never be able to use it...that would burn. Oh, it would. ><

then if you have a winterspring kitty you'll probably get the new un'goro raptor they're releasing.

also I play horde on boulderfist and if you like BG's prepare to lose. cept for WG and sometimes EOTS, we do good in there. and our WG scores are decent. 212 successful defense -vs- ally's 12 successful lol

Yeah I am Horde on Feathermoon and we are in the same BG group. We lost a lot.

However with that list wouldn't troll/org = gnome/dwarf (they both share starting areas and starting cities).

What I see with mounts: Troll = Gnome, UC = SW, Org = Dwarf, BE = Exodar, TB = Darn

I just raised my 29 lock into the 49s bracket. Trust me, it's not worse than Grizzly Hills (although I guess that isn't really a compliment). The only server to be released on WotLK's release day, when I decided to raise my first serious 80. It was made for me....right? Now on the "recommended" server list for being noob central and is avoided like the plague by anyone with half a brain. Even worse, I play Ally on it, so while we can win WG a lot (and EOTS oddly enough, we rock that) we lose everything else quite handily. I did WSG at least 12 times last month one day and at the end of the day I had less than 20 badges to show for it. That was just fail in general. Wg is kind of an oddball...we basically won it nonstop for the first 3 months, then 3 more months it was all hordes, and now for the last few months it's been Alliance again.

I was also wondering about faction stuff mainly because of the things I can't think of a mirror for. For instance, I can't think of a Traquillen-type faction for Allies, Blood Watch was tied into Exodar. There's little faction quests like that dotted all over the game, and Horde have less quests or more in a particular zone. Also, would your mounts and quests from the other faction count towards your achievements without switching over? All those Horde only + Ally only quests would add up, and I'd have a far easier time getting said achievements than anyone who didn't faction change. The official boards already have plenty of whiners with "you betrayers hurr, don't come ova here hurr", I can only imagine the QQs if there would actually be serious perks to doing it.

The crying is common though...I guess? I haven't read the official boards much before now but holy crap lol.
