Yeah, I mentioned working on teching throws last night. I just can't seem to get it down...I never even realize I'm being thrown until it's way too late. :\

personally I score most of my tech throws by gut instinct. just gotta get a feel for your opponent and know they're gonna try to do a throw (alot of people tend to go for a throw when you guard well so)

You tech throws best by taking every oppurtunity you see to throw your opponent. Worst that happens is they tried to throw as well and you teched, otherwise you beat them and get the throw instead.

Never seen teching throws as an instinct thing, or a purposeful action, it's just something that happens when there's an oppurtunity for a throw and you both go for it.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I meant times when I know a throw is coming, but I don't do anything about it. I just stand there and let them throw me.

A good example is typical low-level Tager play where he does the Juggernaut Headcrush looking move and goes into a throw attempt on block. I've seen so many Tagers use this but for some reason, I don't always attempt for the throw as well or even punish it.

Actually it's not as hard as people think to tech grabs. All the grabs in the game have a delay to them and as long as your paying attention you can tech them. What I mean by that is that in order to tech grabs you dont actually want to do it once the opponent initiates the grab. You actually want to wait until after he grabs to do it.

picked up the ps3 version today so i can play against you other guys. i don't have a stick, but ill look into adding ps3 support to mine using a cthulhu board as soon as i can find a good tutorial.

playing with dual shock 3 isnt nearly as bad as playing with the 360 pad. im on now if anyone wants to play~

EDIT: haha, i just took out a level 50 guy named oysiro while i was 12 and got a 4 level boost to 16. there are alot more players on the ps3 version

The Ps3 controller design is by far the best for fighting games and it's why I never really moved on to the arcade stick although I want to.

I want to get one to but for blazblue i dont think need one, i can pull tagger 360 and 720 grabs easy thanks to the d-pad.

Is Noel a good character for beginners? I picked this up the other day and have been messing around with the story and arcade and her move set seems straightforward enough and not wtf like Rachel or Arakune. I really like her QCB A that you can use in combos. The others I was considering are Bang, Litchi, and Jin.

I've always liked fighting games, but have never played them seriously, so I'm terrible. I'd love to get into them though. This game seems fun, so maybe I should start here.

Yes she is. But like many other characters don't think that spamming moves, especially her drive attacks, makes you good because against someone who knows how to counter, because they'll hurt your feelings if start doing that.

i'm still pretty newb at this game, although i've had a handful of people ragequit on me, esp. when i go with v-13, usually followed by some dumbass 'cheap', 'broken character', 'cheater' type message. i really need to get a copy of youmad.jpg on my ps3 to reply with, i don't get why people do that shit... i'm not even that good with her, lol.

I personally use
L1 as S(Taunt), taunt is completely unnecessary but I would feel wrong removing it
L2 as A+B(barrier defense)
R1 as B+C(throw)
R2 as A+B+C+D(Barrier burst)

I spend more time using barrier defense with simply pushing the A+B buttons manual though so really if the time comes I'd probably switch that for A+B+C for rapids but I personally don't have any rapid combos that I use atm since I'm not at that level of play yet.

Outside of maybe Rapid Cancels there isn't much need for the shoulder buttons in this game if you're playing on a pad.

Anyone heard of/seen this problem before?

i got must of my trophies doing vs mode, dunno y u cant get the 100 ranked trophy though. Btw hakumen and V-13 trophy are a bit tricky you have to do the combo while the combo sign is still lit on(meaning that your opponent can't tech the combo)
