WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT

I want to play Kokonoe. :<
Looks like this is the only game a US player has a good chance of making it past first round. Goryus might even win 3 games straight since he might go up against 3 arakunes in a row if he wins and they win
Kokonoe, Jubei, Tsubaki prz http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h1...musgotshot.jpg
lawlz usa got peaced out first round again
only foreigner past first round was a taiwan arakune
My dead PSP sprang back to life the other day after I randomly decided to plug it in and see if it would power up (which it didn't the last 156 times I tried flicking the power switch), and it worked.
Remembered this game supported Remote Play, which is kind of funny given I can't find any mention of it being supported in either the manual or the game case. Surprised at how slick it looks on the small screen with the smoothened look due to the compression. Makes me wonder why most games with simpler control schemes don't bother supporting the feature.
(and I know it's not a processing limitation given the PS3 runs in 480p mode during remote play, so even something like Killzone2 would run fine if you had an identical control set on the PSP)
Of course it's hard to play with a 1/3rd delay to all your inputs, but still nifty none the less.
(would be perfect for turn-based/thinking games, but next to nothing supports the feature -.- )
Is BB extremely showy compared to the GG series btw? I picked up Accent Core Plus for my PSP, and it's so fucking bland in comparison. Even the announcer sounded bored.
(the drab menu {imo} didn't help either)
Don't talk bad about GG
Just a genuine question. Perhaps the PSP version has a different interface than the console renditions, or that Accent Core+ is just drab looking for my tastes in general that the other GGs may not have.
I can't imagine much changed since I last played GG (#Reload), I don't really see a huge disparity in style between the two though. Drab would be about the last thing I would call that series, I've always thought it was the most visually appealing 2D fighter of its time.
Maybe I'll fire up my PS2 copy of GGX2 and see how it stacks up after putting a bunch of time into BB.
I'll take a look at GGX2 myself in the upcoming week, forgot my bro had that DL'd on his 360.
(probably not going to enjoy it specifically due to shit d-pad on 360 controllers though ;/ )
AC's announcer is absolutely terrible but as far as gameplay goes I've always thought the GG series was pretty flashy. It's definitely lacking in the single player department (Does AC even have a story mode? I can't recall) but if you're playing fighting games for the single player then you're doing it wrong.
That said, I think BlazBlue's presentation is lightyears ahead of GG's and I haven't even played it.
fun matches mixem, didnt know that big tager guy could be so win
Nothing like randomly hopping into Arcade as Jinm and beating it by randomly spamming his C forward-ice move and beating it, just to be greeted with the Dante trophy by forgetting I had the difficulty set to Hell. ;/
Weird that I had it so easy with him. The AI in general was block/grab-happy whenever I used Tao or Bang, but Jin? Frig, spam tactics worked.
Whelp, that just leaves the Score Attack trophy on my "Never going to get" list given you have to deal with friggen Unlimiteds near the end, and I can't be arsed to employ the "make 2nd player join game before you're about to lose" trick to avoid restarting the whole thing again.
(pretty much all I got left otherwise is 25 hours of gameplay, and the "Played X amount of Player/Ranked matches" trophies left)
[EDIT] God that 10k dmg Hakumen trophy is a bitch. I can get the damage, but it's not counted as a true combo (counter dims nearly everytime I try to dash cancel out of his C DD to combo into lotus x4)
turn on emergency roll/air recover/etc. for hakumen and nu's trophies, if they make a recovery at any point your timing is off.
for hakumen's, i don't think you'll get there with four lotuses in a row, if that's even possible to do without your combo counter going dim i'm pretty sure the damage scaling would prevent you from breaking 10k.
you're on the right track though, i started mine out same as you (DD > dash in), except i think i followed that up with 5B 214B 41236C and then finish off with the 632146C super again.
only pointers i can think of, make sure you're charging the initial super until it releases on its own. easiest way to get this down is to practice just getting the DD > dash > 5B part down. if you can get the timing on that the rest is cake -- just be cheap and use the shortcuts for the 3 specials that cap it off. that's especially helpful for the last part where you don't want to inadvertently delay the super, as using the shortcut doesn't allow you to charge it.
on a different note
fuck unlimited ragna. so close to finishing score attack finally and i just can't seem to work this one out D:
Yeah, I've been trying to work out both of the easy combos people YouTube'd videos for, and 4 lotus didn't dim the combo counter last I checked when I was practicing the timing piece by piece. The combo overall I've been trying to work just barely passes 10k, just having problems finding out when exactly to hit 41236C after the initial DD+dash, ah well, practice makes perfect.
Have been using the specials since I'm lazy like that. (just wish I could hold left on the stick to power his DD up, but I have to hold down C after hitting the stick to do so)
Good to know why everyone puts on the recoveries on in the Training mode at least, I actually turned them off at one point thinking that was the reason for my combo being fucked up. ;/
Still getting used to the numpad notation. If I look at my numpad I get it, but doing it in my head? No go. Had to write down the motions in laymens term in notepad for the Hakumen/Nu combos.
Is there a general means of escaping repeated combos when you're cornered? I just got my ass handed to me by a Noel (yay for D spam >.>) and a Jin online who kept looping a combo since I couldn't move out safely before they restarted the moves (couldn't even go to block with a mid-air recover). Has to be a way other than Barrier Burst when you're below 50% AH no?
(still loving the Barrier Burst concept. Other fighting games need to steal that)
At any rate, 13 trophies to go, probably working on 100%'ing Story mode (that'll be tedious due to having to lose for progression -.-, even with a proper Save/Load guide) after Haku/Nu trophies, and Level 30 w/ 200 Ranked matches online.
(love the Blazblue trophy icons, gotta collect them all......and get a nice shiny Platinum to boost my level)
Yeah I always liked the burst mechanic, BB's took some getting used to though. In Guilty Gear you could do an offensive burst, if you caught your opponent with it you'd max out your tension gauge instantly, which I tended to abuse.
I've been taking a break from online the last day or two trying to work on trophies, I think I have 7 left to go excluding the platinum. Score Attack, Unlimited Ragna, Litchi, Rachel, Counter Assaults, Story Mode and uhh... 150 player matches, which I think I've got about halfway done.
I don't think you need 100% for the story mode trophy, just to get the true ending, which I think only requires you get every available win. I could be wrong but I swear I remember reading that somewhere.
God fucking damn. You weren't kidding about unlimited Ragna in Score Attack being a fucking beast. Got all the way to him via Jin (exploiting the AI's weakness in countering his moves) in one go, nearly beat him on my first try, then I go to get my ass handed to be 4 more times via the 2P trick, just to be a split-second off from trying a 5th time as I took too long to hit Start button during that 2-hit DD of him that knocks a good 50% of your HP off. -.-
Unlimited Rachel gets special award for being biggest fucking nuisance.......bloody toads I can't hit.
Alrighty, back to Unlimited Ragna, time to get my ass kicked again.
[EDIT] Ok, really getting tired of being repeatedly having my ass handed to me by him.
And I just lost track of how many times I've lost to him now, this is bullshit. $^@&*(!@@#$
Ugh, fuck this for now.
[EDIT2] Heh, as I went back to the main menu I was greeted with the Carpal Tunnel trophy. I seriously don't feel like I've spent 25 hours on this game.
