won't be able to tonight, i'm tending to my gf being sick right now. lol
Officially in love with Tager, gay as it may be. I was always a big Potemkin fan and Tager is alot more of the same only with the ability to combo into and out of his throws, which is freaking awesome.
Btw for the uniformed -> BlazBlue - Dustloop Forums is the best place to go for general info about the game and some good basics possibly not covered on the included bonus disc. Most of the info is still based off the Arcade version so a few bits are out of date (mostly just the Astral Heats for every character, which is a really minor concern).
For those into that sort of thing, a strat guide is supposed to be coming out from Doublejump books (google it) in a day or two and it was made mostly with alot of input from the Dustloop forums, so it should actually be *good* in comparison to the usual swill that comes along for fighting games.
The patch was mostly just adding in the double blind for Ranked matches (which is a little dumb since they can see which characters you most often play on your D-card) and improved the net code a little bit. I found the online much less laggy today compared to yesterday. Supposedly it was also a few bug fixes that were lingering from the arcade version yet someone still made it into the home release. For whatever reason they accidentally released an "outdated" version of the game, since if you've read reviews they mention the double blind in ranked, which obviously wasn't here on release day.
Last question, which I'm hating to ask, but is there much to do in the game besides standard/story battles?
They're charging bloody $70 for it where I live (yay Canada -.- ), and that's a little hard for me to swallow for a fighting title. Was the same reason I never bothered with SF4. (more-so when SSF2THDR was a quarter of the price and looked better imo >.> )
Needs to be something I know I'll be playing for awhile down the road, perhaps it'd be best if I gave it a rental first?
Arcade/Story/Versus/Score Attack/Network is all the modes, so no there isn't a whole lotta variety between the different modes, but the base gameplay is more then enough for me personally.
Truth be told though the game does have support for DLC so maybe we'll see some stuff added down the line.
If they pull a Capcom and start selling alternate costumes I'm a stab someone.
Shame it's a sprite-fighter, not much one can do to customize looks due to the nature of the medium. What kept me hooked to Tekken: DR on the PSP was farming gold to purchase gear with.
I have to say though, I was hoping the animations would be a little smoother, but after watching some YouTube videos it doesn't appear to be the case. I'd kill for something that's as fluid as Street Fighter 3 was.
[EDIT] Actually, what I could really use is a demo, here's to hoping for one on PSN today.
Woo just got it today! haven't played much, pretty much brought a friend over opened it up and threw it in, we had no idea what we were doing.
I really like Litchi and Jin though, time to find out how to actually play the game!
Curse whoever told me to change my buttons to:
BCD
A
....I tried this against Mixem with not even a practice round and got beat (well 4-4 I think?)
After he left I immediately changed it back and starting destroying again. That setup is total garbage>_<
ABC
D
= FTW
hehe you're used to that system Welt? I'm used to the BCD_A one since that's how my GG setup is. Anyway, sorry for not being able to connect, for some reason I can't connect with you. Maybe next time.
Ikari
I use
ABC
D
V-13 ftw, love her 5000+ damage combos, so sick
I haven't picked this one up yet, but cruising through youtube i came across this vid.
YouTube - BlazBlue Litchi vs Tager; Litchi vs Ragna Gamechariot (14/04/09)
That litchi player just dominates the other players.
Got comfortable enough with Noel to go online last night. On XBL, most matches were pretty lag free. Kept me up till 2AM. <3 4 hours of sleep before work.
Hey Welt, since you also play Noel, how do you approach? I've found that 6B and 3C are pretty dangerous to open with and get snuffed by people who spam A. 6A is win but has no mixup. So I usually just play defensively and try to CH 6A into an air combo or Chain Revolver B and B. IAD C into 6A > 6C also works into air combos and Chain Revolver, but I'm coming up short with ways to come in low. Any ideas? Is there a way to go into a combo from 2B or even get a knockdown?
Anyone pull off an astral finish yet? Have to be at 100% heat and the enemy 20% for it to work.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdJrapZ_ebI
Haven't had the chance to use one online
Astrals are pretty damn fun indeed. I guess i'mma start getting mroe into the game, I just have to suck up the fact that the game ISN'T guilty gear and it's not meant to be like guilty gear.
Tao's just a lot of fun to use, but those combos in the dustloop forums are pretty damn long, not all hard tho.
I just can't find a way to punish people because i'm still thinking of May rushdowns from guilty gear.
I like Tao also, but I am having issues pulling off her special heat abilities outside of the one where she jumps at the person and claws em for 40hits, there something I'm missing? And what are these astral's that you speak of? (prolly know em, just didn't know they are special type of finishers)
Watch the video I posted above on the astrals unless you're at work and cant see it.
Yeah, had to pull it up on my iphone since youtube is blocked at work. How do you pull off astral finishers...? Even going to that site didnt show any combo for them... and are those the moves you have to unlock in story mode first or something? (nvm - answered my own question)
Some of em look really cool, I like v-13's AF
Lets play tonight if you are on PS3 (not sure what time, I think I have a date unless I blow it off). Down+D is a good open, Up+D is a good open off an overhead dash, Down+C is good, Dash in + Forward + C is also good.
I'm still trying to figure her out myselfPlaying in training and playing live are like 2 totally different games in BB.
Lets share some things tonight/tomorrow.
Oh, her best move is Down,Down+B (resets and can create insanely long combos, but I have a hard time getting it to come out fast online)
Got the game yesterday. I'm generally pretty average with fighting games overall.
Really enjoying Ragna, Noel, and Tager so far.
Got comfortable enough with Ragna to try online but got my ass handed to me a few
times.
