What he said, it refers to the layout on a numeric keypad. I was gonna write on my previous post in the "proper" notation (i.e. 236B for Sledge) but figured it would leave people confused, guess I was right.

Oh, well thanks for the quick response, was really lost.
Oh my....just use the directional emoticons for God's sake.......lol!
i added you xerlic, i'm still adjusting from guilty gear considering the defense system and how it works. I also have to consider the speed difference between accent core and bb. I'm having quite a lot of fun w/ Noel tho, the problem w/ me right now is knowing how to counter the characters properly. Jin's ice still pisses me off, he's slow as hell tho. I have to find an easier way to break the ice, one thing i totally dislike about the game is that you HAVE to break out of the ice. Possibly mashing the wrong button/input by accident to get CH'd, sadly there's no fixed timer like testament's webs.
Waiting on BB "Accent Core".... lol, knowing ARC, they'll put some pretty badass title, they won't repeat the gg titles.
I was playing online agaisnt a jin, his winning ration was 100% and he had like 50 matches under his belt but when i saw his incomplete matches i just told him to go to hell... he had over 20 inc matches.
Cyas in a week or two, my EBGames finally got their shipment, and lo and behold, only one fucking copy of the game......for 360. Not waiting for Standard edition to come out, so I ordered a copy of LE for PS3 off Amazon.
Can someone recommend me a place to look at for arcade sticks to purchase while I wait? After spending $50 in quarters playing Capcom vs. SNK2 & SF3:3S at my college this year, I don't think I could go back to playing via d-pad.
I really think I'm going to pick up this game but is it worth playing without the $150 joystick controller?
Honestly the game is perfectly manageable without a joystick. It's somewhat character dependent but the game isn't as hardcore about frame perfect inputs like SFIV is, it's more about just committing your chains to muscle memory.
I've never once played home console fighters with a stick, and while it's maybe hurt my game in some instances (*cough* Virtua Fighter *cough*), it's definitely not needed in the case of this game.
I do pretty fine with the regular controller (360) for these games, most notably this and SF4 even though everyone says once you go to the stick you'll never touch a controller again
Dunno about 100$ controller for 2 games though >_>
I understand the actual system, although since numpad is on the right of the keyboard I expected 6 to be back, 1 to be down-forward, etc.
Quick idea, good bad, need center posts for all of them? "Intuitive" start at thin part and end at thick red dot.

Why didn't these exist yet?
Just build a stick, it'll cost you a lot less depending on what stick/buttons you get.
I think Happ competition pushbuttons run for around $12-15/set of 6
and the Happ competition bat-top stick goes for $20
Sanwas are more expensive, they run for $18-20/set of 6
and the sanwa JLF 8-way stick goes for $25+
same applies for seimitsu.
The stick i built cost me $80 total w/ full sanwas & the wood to build the box and all. Just need to know how to solder or have someone help you solder and you'll be fine w/ the wiring.
Friend bought some arcade tools (he's fixing up a SF2 cab at a local restaurant) online, he got some buttons/cherrytop for like 10$ total, unless there's something special about the ones you listed why not get those?
Mero, have you figured out a good way to handle rushdowns from Ragna/Litchi? More then anything someone with those two down tight can absolutely demolish me as Tager, to the point where I wonder why I'm even bothering to hold my controller.
All arcade parts are not created anywhere even remotely equal. Sanwa/Semeitsu/Happ(ghetto tier) are the industry standards of quality.
Owning an arcade stick(or maintaining cabs) means replacing those buttons, and the cheap chinese knockoff buttons end up costing more long-term due to constant replacement.
Ignoring that they don't even function as well.
Price = Quality
Happ competitions w/ cherry switches are great for the low price. If you have happ concave standard tho, those are pretty uncomfortable considering their stiffness. Finger pressing comfort helps a lot.
All happ parts tho (stick and buttons) are the stiffest, competition or not.
Sanwas are definitely the softest and quietest, very nice and easy on the fingers and the 8-way handles nicely, whether you have the default square gate or the Octo gate.
I never tried seimitsus.
My arcade stick is still incomplete but here's what it looks like. (still needs the exterior paint and art on top.) (spoilered for huge)

Sorry if it has been said here before, but I am picking up the game tonight, who is the noob/button mashing friendliest character to start with?
Honestly speaking, no one, because if you do that w/ anyone, you're just gonna get easily punished. Just play training w/ all the characters, check their movelist, if you're getting the collector's edition of blazblue, watch the bonus disc first!!! You'll learn the game mechanics and characters a lot better. See who you're most comfortable with and stick w/ that character, maybe a second if you like.
