Xbox 360 PC controller - FFXI

I apologize if this thread belongs to the FFXI standard forum, but is there anyway to get my Xbox 360 wired controller to work properly for FFXI? I'm trying to configure for the menus to work with the dpad but it seems that the game doesn't want to recognize it. It feels like XI pc hates the Xbox 360 controller and adores the Logitech one.

I know you guys might just say 'go just use the Logitech controller' but the Xbox 360 controller is way more comfortable in my hands and the Logitech one feels rather bulky, especially for the analog sticks.

Download the drivers for the controller from the Microsoft site. I can't post a link because I don't have 10 posts sorry ;o. The controller D-Pad works fine though once it is set up properly.

I have the drivers and got the controller working mostly, but the triggers won't work. lolAlla says it's because of MS's part.

It can work with the right settings and drivers. However, it sucks totally. For one, the shoulder buttons are just aweful. I have tried it and it's just terrible to use. Do the universe a favor and just shell out about $30 for a Logitech dual action PC game pad. It is flawless beyond belief.

I already have a Logitech controller, I was hoping to use the 360 one because it's a lot more comfortable in my hands opposed to the Logitech design. Guess I'll just use the wired controller when I get some Live games for my PC, or on the 360 when the battery packs are dead.

,The 360 Triggers don't work they way they are suppose to for XI, so you'll have to use alterative means

I've used a 360 controller on the PC for 2.5 years, the shoulder buttons aren't important. Set the macros to the buttons and then use start for auto run. Not like you ever use the start and back button for their default controls anyways.
