There may be many socially liberal Republicans however the actions, behaviors, and direction that the Republican party has been going shows that they are not listening to those people but are listening to the Republicans that are extremely socially conservative.

And I don't even know how to respond to the first part of your post. It just doesn't make sense. It is naive of you and shows a clear lack of understanding of how politics work to believe that because there were no convictions or jail sentences that means inherently that water boarding is not torture. Whether or not water boarding is torture is not connected to whether or not they decided to prosecute or not. What "criteria" do you require to consider it torture?

And yes, there are Republicans that are socially liberal. I can name dozens of people that I know. There isn't a set of beliefs that one must subscribe to in order to be a Republican. You can even be a liberal voting for the weakest candidate.
how about Tom Ridge would you believe him?

Here I'll even post a Fox news link for you.

And just because nobody has been convicted doesn't mean it didn't happen. Once a truth commission is assembled after the health care debate is over we will wait and see what comes of that.

Not yet, but this is a stupid fucking metric and it needs to be pointed out that you're using stupid fucking metrics for your definition of waterboarding=torture?.

Is there any other criteria you would like to apply?
How about we ask the folks who have been waterboarded?

To say nothing of what Rhinox linked.

It's your criteria that are fucking bullshit and often disproven. I linked all this shit the last time you brought up your fucking lies and you still aren't responding to it. If you respond to any of this in a rational manner I'll be as shocked as I've been all year.

geothermal is still a bit crazy, although they are doing it in many areas i think it's still a far way from my region, very rocky up here might involved some heavy drilling to get deep enough

altho i do have several rain barrels right now that collect the water but most of the time i just leave the taps open and let it drain into the yard as when it rains it tends to rain heavy and i don't like the water pouring out and pooling around my foundation, i really would like some kind of overflow system that would turn the valve for me since im pretty lazy

i've been considering digging several trenches and extending my downspouts underground and have the water collect in a dry well or have it drain into the stream at the side of my house

There is a huge geothermal power plant very close to my house. A lot of energy in Nevada is created by alternative means.

The nuclear energy lobby isn't strong enough, obviously.

You think any decisions get made for the general good? If that were so, we'd be consuming real sugar and our cows would be consuming real grass.
