And I don't even know how to respond to the first part of your post. It just doesn't make sense. It is naive of you and shows a clear lack of understanding of how politics work to believe that because there were no convictions or jail sentences that means inherently that water boarding is not torture. Whether or not water boarding is torture is not connected to whether or not they decided to prosecute or not. What "criteria" do you require to consider it torture?

And yes, there are Republicans that are socially liberal. I can name dozens of people that I know. There isn't a set of beliefs that one must subscribe to in order to be a Republican. You can even be a liberal voting for the weakest candidate.

geothermal is still a bit crazy, although they are doing it in many areas i think it's still a far way from my region, very rocky up here might involved some heavy drilling to get deep enough

altho i do have several rain barrels right now that collect the water but most of the time i just leave the taps open and let it drain into the yard as when it rains it tends to rain heavy and i don't like the water pouring out and pooling around my foundation, i really would like some kind of overflow system that would turn the valve for me since im pretty lazy

i've been considering digging several trenches and extending my downspouts underground and have the water collect in a dry well or have it drain into the stream at the side of my house
