This game received a 9 from IGN and averaging an 84 on metacritic. Cant wait till the 25th. :D
Goddamn it, May is shaping up to be just as money sucking as the previous months. Got this, 3D dot heroes, Lost Planet 2 and RDR on my list.
I'm really up in the air about whether or not I want this game. I love creating stuff, the gameplay looks fun, I like the different types of online play (I could use more local MP PS3 games) and it just looks like a good game overall.
...but I don't like racing games
The worst part is those damn pre-order bonuses, because if I did get it, I would want some of them too. This is why I hate pre-order bonuses, they make me buy things when I would normally wait a while before picking them up.
The pre-order bonuses usually get released on PSN store for free somewhere down the line in the future. Like inFamous special ability that came with gamestop preorder and MAG bonus armor.
Oh man best one yet
Surprised no one posted this, but there will be a post launch patch that will decrease load times

Theres a demo for the game coming out in tomorrow's PSN update.
lol @ Kevin Butler. I hope hes hosting Sony's E3 Presser.
The demo is now on the PSN store. Go go go!
Wow, this has to be the earliest they've updated the store for Canada in years.
Anyways, 1gb demo, makes me wonder if the level creation tools are in it or not as was the case with the (stupidly long loading) 2gb beta.
This demo will make-or-break it for me, as I had a lot of problems with the beta as far as handling and performance were concerned. It has the potential to be fucking awesome, but if the drifting controls and loading (although improved from beta) are still horrible I'll have to pass.
[EDIT] 67min left of demo, arrrrrgh fucking Sony, give us Canucks some proper servers. >.< , to think I got a 500mb demo of Rocket Knight following it.
Level creation is there with some features taken out. Also all tracks made will transfer over if you get the retail copy.
Single Player race on 1 track.
4 player offline on 1 track.
Level creator minus some features.
33 seconds to load the demo track with simple pre-fab characters. This is a pass for me for now. Steering is also still too tight for my tastes from the beta. Can barely tell the difference between tilting the stick slightly and pressing it over all the way. Drifting is miles better at least.
Regardless, it didn't stop me from trying to make a track hoping to break the game or something.

The character/kart/track creators all awesome, but the racing itself is nothing spectacular sadly. And like Kaisha said the steering needs work. I hope they fix those things because I see a lot of potential fun in here.
If its anything compared to the psp version then yeah it takes some getting used to, but i think its just 1 more aspect of the gameplay. The controls are "tight" enough to make hazards actually avoidable. If it was anything like real turning physics thered be no way you could avoid certain obstacles had you not had tighter turning. Yeah it can potentially send you into a dizzying back and forth sway but thats just the penalty for having to avoid the obstacle that way(instead of jumping etc)
drifting is cool though
This game has the best Drifting I've seen since Crash Team Racing.
Loving the course editor btw. Made this retarded course that looks like a swirl and goes underground to come back to the start. Drift endlessly lol.
The sucker punch studios artist spotlight was pretty cool. Made an inFamous city track and it looked awesome lol.
I like long weird tracks like that lol. Is there a way to make it so if you jump a rail or something it isn't a shortcut? That's the only problem I'd hate is people getting good at just skipping most of the track. If the driving isn't very good though, I'm not sure how much I'd want to get this, but I'll prolly try it out at least.
