Made me think of kill bill.
Made me think of kill bill.
I was looking for some solid state equation for semi conductor, and fell on this...
http://britneyspears.ac/physics/basics/basics.htm
The band structure graph made me rofl, and the page actually had the info I was looking for.
Lol yeah, my Electronics teacher showed us a picture of the greats of early 20th century physicists at some conference, with britney spears shopped in. I have no idea how that joke got started.
Lol. That last line was golden. That's how physics should be. Sexy pictures, and jabs at engineer whenever you can.
[edit]
Anyone remember the word people were using to describe a know-it-all who think they are the next Einstein and bring up stupid theory, but have no science background.
I'm arguing on a french forum against this idiot
http://www.glafreniere.com/matter.htm
and I feel I could use that word again, since it describe him perfectly.
The whole documents has so many ridiculous conclusion, but the last page is the best I think.
A crank?
I can't remember the word and now I'm getting so frustrated.
Edit: Thanks Eliseos
crackpot also works
News update of LHC: Live Broadcast via stream tomorrow 3/30/10
Large Hadron Collider begins its attempts to collide protons at 7 TeV
http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/...-tomorrow.aspx
They would fucking finally do that when I will be at class all day. Also, for some reason I thought they were taking a break somewhere and not operating for a few months, or did that already happen?
Nice, lol.The world won't end tomorrow, but if it does you can watch it happen live over the internet as the Large Hadron Collider begins its attempts to collide protons at 7 TeV (trillion electron volts).
But why do they have to do this on a school day? I mean, I'm sure watching the particles collide wont actually be that exciting, but I still want to see it.
Had a "holy shit I think I finally get this" moment during studying this weekend. We are learning the Lagrangian in mechanics right now, it's pretty nuts how it fits all the physical laws together. Some problems it seems a lot easier to use that than to describe it using regular differential equations. We had to learn it over spring break though, which explains why my Facebook status relates the time I study to the free time that I have.
I guess that's why I like it right now lol, we're doing simple stupid stuff like F=ma and oscillators. The timing of this class is off though, we're doing Lagrange multipliers in my thermo class to prepare us for statistical mechanics. He isn't going over it in class though, it's just a homework exercise due on Friday to find the max/min of some functions given some constraints, but we don't cover lagrange multipliers until next week in mechanics.
It's like last semester when we spent a week on Fourier transforms at the beginning of the semester, and at the end of my semester is when my Circuits class went into a lot more mathematical details on it and when I finally understood it.
Stream is up now
Edit: I put the stream up through my PS3 wifi on my HD TV. Gonna enjoy this.
Sath pointed me to this thread, because I never really browse BG beyond FFXI stuff. I was curious if anybody here does quantum computation stuff.
edit: Also fuck top and bottom, they will always be truth and beauty for me! Petition anyone!?
Underwhelming since they kinda talked through the first collision and didn't properly announce when it was happening but still pretty fucking cool that it worked.
Are we dead yet?
