Laptop Help - Freezes at Startup

My friend was using his laptop (Toshiba Satellite A135) and claims the battery overheated. He turned it off and the next day wouldn't work at all. The times it did turn on the laptop froze (very little hd activity but fans were working). It won't even access the BIOS.

I checked the voltage output to make sure the power brick was working properly, and it is. I've removed the hd, ram, and video card but no dice. I'm thinking the mobo died, anybody got any ideas?

Yeah, that pretty much means you're SOL. Motherboard likely got shorted out somewhere.
