#1) I had no idea that food stamps didn't have any sort of ID-required connection, and that they could be so easily transferred.

Doesn't iirc. They ask you do you get assistance, you say yes but it doesn't take more out. If anything it will probably save a few more on your taxes.

I want to address the ethical issue:

I see everyday what the Government spends money on and I have to say that they literally blow $billions on needless BULLSHIT! Of course it can be justified in writing to someone not aware of the specific situations but a majority of money is spent in the name of "if I don't spend it, I won't get it next year".

I say that if the money actually goes to food for people and not wasted for the sake of it, YAY!

Also, protip: There is no minimum amount of goods that you need to purchase when using the EBT cards. Businesses get charged maybe 75 cents per transaction (1 swipe,) but they have to deal with it.

Can't buy the stamps directly, and that's what has had some people itt up in arms since some people sell them to supplement their own incomes. Don't know if you did the pre-screen only, but try the full application. Some people I know that are receiving unemployment comp are receiving stamps and are otherwise broke. If you have too much in assets, then it will probably filter you out, too.
