    BBQ and Grilling

I have a London Broil I've defrosted and am pretty hungry. I really dont wanna wait for a 24 hour Marinade, so does anyone have any good steak BBQ tips for a quick season-an'-grill?

So far, the best googled recipe for the broil is garlic, salt and pepper. That's a little bland imo, so if anyone can give a better - fast - recipe it's appreciated. I have a ton of condiments to do a fast marinade with, including my favorite - Smoke/Hickory flavored BBQ sauce.

Also, if you wanna post other BBQ/Grill tips/recipes feel free. It's the time to do so, with the 4th in 2 days.

A good steak deserves a good long marinade. :_:

The only thing you might want to add to a quick marinade is some general steak seasoning rub. I have some more detailed marinade lists, but I can't remember them without my cheat cards, and all of them are overnight.

If you cook a good quality steak properly, you will not even need any sauce. It will be flavorful enough on its own. Whenever I prepare one that isn't juicy and delicious, I consider adding sauce to it an admission of my failure.

Well then maybe just salt and pepper with a small amount of steak rub.

I like my steak rare, as in ...just show the cow the oven and once it's afraid bring it to me rare.

So I'll fire the grill up right now and get the coals hot (I prefer charcoal to gas for flavor) and put it on without marinade. Kohan's post said 45 degrees on the rack - interesting. I'll try that.

that london broil is gonna be terrible and tough if you try and do a quick job on it. Hell I'd vac seal and marinade for 48-72 hours for it to be just right.

Put it on a GeorgeForman and eat it within 20mins. Put some butter on it and some garlic. If you dont wanna wait 48hrs, thats the best youll get.

I certainly am. I plan on getting ribs, burgers and making Carolina style pulled pork. I also have eggplant, asparagus and Zucchini im throwing on here as well. I'm a veg head and they grill phenomenally.

We have alot planned that day.

Well it's a big cut of meat, I dont wanna fuck it up.

Alright, I'll settle for somethin else and not grill but can you guys (who sound like you've made a london broil or two) give me a decent recipe for a marinade and I'll let it sit for 24 hours?

I use a dry rub of salt, cracked black pepper, cracked coriander, and cumin on some grilled steaks.

Just slice it across the grain, like fajita meat, if you can't marinate.

Try rubbing in olive oil and season heavily with salt. That's all you need for a perfect steak.

    Fuck I never listen ; ;

    http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/f.../kitchenBG.jpg

Edit;; I sealed it in a zip lock bag with a little olive oil and about half a cup of Worchishire (sp) sauce with already rubbed in salt, pepper and emeril's steak rub. It smells fucking heavenly.

I'll let it sit until tomorrow. It really does look like a nice cut of meat so I dont wanna fuck it.

I was THIS close to just putting it on the grill, but theres nothing like a rare, tender, juicy cut of steak. Worth the wait, if it means I gotta make something else tonight.

    More BBQ recipes, go go.
