    Unable to update Billing Information

    I have an alternate account on a credit card which expired last month. I was lazy and neglected to update the billing until a few days ago, and ran into the reg maintenance problem. Anyway. The reg maint has been over but I'm still unable to update the billing info on this account. I've tried multiple credit cards. (One of them has 2 other FFXI accounts on them.)

    The server is busy or you have entered incorrect information.
    I'm honestly unsure what to do. SE Rep says that the server is probably congested, but I'm doubting this is the problem =/. Can anyone help me?

    Not sure this is related, but my content ids all canceled on me and now I am unable to reactivate them. I think they are performing a maintenance extension or something.

    Does it happen to be an account from a different region you use your main account in?

    E.g EU account while you use POL NA?

    If it is, just download Vista POL for the right region on POL.com, install somewhere and it should work.

    @BRP, my alternative account with 6 chars got all of them cancelled few days ago, I finally got to reactivate them 2 hours ago.

    Tried another card and it finally worked. Not sure why it went through this time. Updating billing info through POL is frustrating =/.

    It happens to me all the time. If I pay for one account, can't pay for the next right away. I need to wait a whole day or something for it to work unless I use a different credit card.

    Sadly it is not you it is SE they are idiots. They would not take my new card, which was just a re issue no number change, no address change, it was the same card they ahve been using for years.
    They said something was not typed right and they couldnt accept that card. but they COULD bill me for a dollar 9 times while I was trying it for 3 days. I finally called my card company and had that lady check my addy on file name too ect ect. then re tried the SE one and it finally worked. (ps the 9 bucks was refunded it just a hold thing which was why I yelled at them their billing server obviously found my accound and hit it for the debit hold why couldnt POL accept it then. goof balls.)

    My content ID's were cancelled today too. Card doesnt expire for few years, has plenty of money on it; this is silly SE messing up in my case correctaru? Had to change to parent's card as updating my own info kept failing.

    I've got the same problem, my new credit card wont work(UCS-60257) but my dads old one works just fine. I dunno...I'm not allowed to actually use his so this sucks > phoned cc company and SE but nothing really got done.

    Hopefully mine will work eventually, i'll keep trying every hour or so till i go to bed.

    Same things happening to me. I think SE f'd something up during their registration maint.

    Had the same problem tonight, tried two cards no love, called CC company for one (the other is my debit card) CC was fine. Having the urge to kick SE for screwin up mah brd leveling time.

    A few people in my LS had the same issue.

    They kept trying to update their CC info and received the "Server is busy" message.

    What was also frustrating for them was that upon receiving that message, they weren't allowed to try to update their info for the next 30mins.

    My billing is messed up as well it just happened this morning. It won't let me log in to change my billing info though. It keeps telling me my information is incorrect.

    I know my info is correct because it is letting me log in to get the billing message. The card is not expired and has available funds. Any ideas?

    Edit: I have checked to see if there is any maintenance. But I have not seen a notice so unless it is hiding from me there isn't any.

    One of my friends is having the same issue, he's tried to change his CC (renewal following expiry) details several times over the week, to no avail.

    I've been getting the UCS-60257 error for 4 days now. Contacted SE many times over chat and they just say that the server is congested due to many people trying to update it. I really dont think that its the server, I think its on their part. Cause why in the first place, would they not charge me the month and just LM-21 me and not let me update the card?

    Its really stupid and I'm really frustrated right now.

    Try again when it's not the first/last week of the month, and the billing server is congested.

    Used to get the same error all the time. Normally i had to wait 24 hours between attempts and it went through fine.

    I had this happen and had a lengthy discussion with one of their employees about it. It has something to do with the way their system verifies your credit card information. If your card is rejected for a select few reasons, then a flag is placed on the account for that card. Failing to update a card's expiration date when your card is re-issued will cause this to occur. The flag instructs their system to re-verify some information on the card, but doing that causes session time out in another part of their system. Basically, you can't do anything on that account with that card until that flag is cleared and trying before that happens will flag it again. You can either wait until the flag clears (I'm not sure how long it takes, maybe over a day?) or use a different card.

    Still nothing here. I finally got access to POL, apperantly SE removed the LM-21 out of my account and let me reactivate it. I did but still no luck updating the credit card information.

    So I got told that I needed to do it on PS2 or 360 version of POL to increase the chances of it being processed without the errors. Funny thing is that I dont have any of those 2.

    So I'm screwed for life.

    Rather then start a new thread figured I'll post this question here since it is sort-of-kind-of related. Anyways, went out of town for the weekend and came back to find my content ID's canceled. While I was trying to update my payment information I am now being asked to supply either a Verified by Visa or for a MasterCard Securecode. I have never used either of these options, and after talking to both credit card companies on the phone they are telling me that my branches do not support these features. Fairly certain that PS2 and Xbox 360 versions of the game do not require this feature, but I unfortunately do not have access to either platform and am a PC only player. Now, I've been told that one can use pre-paid cards to pay for FFXI. However, I've never once had such a card nor used one. So basically my question is what kind of cards work and are you able to switch to using said card through PoL w/o having to supply an additional securecode? Any help would be very much appreciated! :3

    tl;dr What must one do to obtain/use a prepaid card for FFXI?
