What happened to all the NIN wasn't meant to be a tank ?The July version update will see self-sacrificing ninjas restored to battle-ready fitness with a generous 50% of HP in the tank.

LOL...
you're funny i'll give you that
Check out Gunitsoldier's sig changeHe added something I never said to it to make himself seem like less of an idiot after he was owned. It's funny that he hasn't shown his face here after that. Could he be any more butthurt?
LOL (brb digging up a quote)
Here ya go:
source: http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/77440...-2009-a-5.html 1st post in that pageYou totally changed my sentence and my point , if you wanna say something, say it , don't quote someone's name into your opinion.
QQ's about me "fixing" his post (changing "People that get this hat for a turban+1 are retarded. " to "People that pay for another crappy miniexpansion are retarded.") and then he goes and pulls this off.
This has to be one of the most hilarious and horrible attempt toI've ever seen. Thank you.
Why are people even entertaining stupid shit like common sense mechanics behind Charm, non-elemental spells(wtf?), and shihei being expensive(again wtf?). This thread is turning into another "omg wat if you cant cancel it!?"
I pretty much completely agree with you. I think it would be correct to say that PLD gets a whole lot more room for error than NIN does. A good NIN can tank the same things that PLD can, I totally agree with that. PLD just has an easier time doing it. Sentinel, Shield blocks/no interrupts, better gear choice (NIN tanking gear really hasn't been updated in a really long time). All of those mean that skill, gear, poor support, etc are less of a factor for PLD than NIN.
What does NIN get over PLD? One more shadow? Can't think of much else.
I posted a few more thought out ideas on this on friday: You Are Not Your O's Kote: Morning in Vana'diel: One Tank.
Non-elemental magic damage. I didn't think it was that complicated or hard to understand or that unheard of.
You ever hear of Spirits Within? What Elemental consistently resists its damage?
You ever hear of Chi Blast? What Elemental consistently resists its damage?
You ever hear of Atonement? What Elemental consistently resists its damage?
You ever see "Neutral Attack Bonus" on a Pankration plate? What the fuck did you think that meant?
I'd go on, but you're probably hopeless.
Hmm, I wonder if we are going to get two more adjustment threads next week. If we do, then what could the final two announcements be, assuming July 20th is the patch date? Chances look good for an avatar posting.
Meteor is a non-elemental spell. If you are truly questioning this, then by all means keep stacking on the fire resist and let me know how it works. Nothing short of MDT or MDB reduces Meteor damage as far as I know, excepting Fealty. I don't think Fealty blocks any other magic damage in a such way, so that itself should point you in the direction of Meteor's special qualities.
If someone has some serious proof backing up the claim that Meteor is Light or Dark based damage, I would be happy to see it and chew my own foot.
I think you all can stop bitching weather or not meteor is non-elemental or not, seeing how it is a Final Fantasy, I'm sure it takes the same traits from spells as all the other ones, leaving Meteor non-elemental.
Believe what you want but I doubt square would change anything on spell propertys that have been around ever since FF4, which has remained non-elemental ever since so why it would change now is beyond all speculation. so stop bitching and go play a different game and read for yourself its a non-elemental magic spell, that's like saying Fire is Earth Based because it starts coming out of the ground rather on the avatars clothes/skin first.
I also always thought Meteor was non-elemental but someone told me that its actually "light elemental"(lolWiki lists it as LE too). I always went with the MDT, MDB & Fealty route against meteor assuming that it was non-elemental so yeah, don't personally have a proof that it has an element.
Meteor in FFXI is DARK based, can check it with some tricks and get it in spell list, think that was how ppl figured it out that it had MP cost of 1 also.
Is there a point of contact who will be able to find out, verify, and report what the Mythic Katana does after the update? In light of the above changes, the latent effect granted by the ninja mythic weapon will also be adjusted. In place of the effect whereby users of Mijin Gakure are spared being revived in a weakened state, a special new effect will be introduced that will activate after using Mijin Gakure.
I'm wondering if Mythic NINs are going to have to blow up and reraise to activate a 30-second "god mode" of haste, invulnerability, or some other neat effect. I really am looking forward to finding out what it is.
Also, Meteor.
It's probably reraise with 100% HP.
Meteor is water based.
If you dig in the data files, you find the spell listing for Meteor & Comet are found directly under Gravity II and before Poison. Using this, you can go into the old spell listing in PoLUtil and look for those specific lines. In regards to Meteor it says the following:
MagicType: Black Magic
Element: Special
Valid Targets: Enemy
Skill: Elemental Magic
MP Cost: 1
Casting Time: 8s
Recast Time: 10s
what you're saying sounds more like what people found when they looked up Comet;
MagicType: Black Magic
Element: Dark
Valid Targets: Enemy
Skill: Dark Magic
MP Cost: 1
Casting Time: 4s
Recast Time: 10s
As far as the casting and recast time goes, if it's the same as in-game monsters, I don't know. But this is my basis for further believing that Meteor is non-elemental. I do believe people believe Meteor is light-based because of Carbuncle's Blood Pact "Meteorite" which is very >_> It should also be noted most physical Blue Magic is listed as "Special" Element too, so this seems to indicate, that the normal rules of magic do not apply in terms of resisting Meteor damage.
Also; you can charm any charmable mob in the game as a level 1 BST with a minimum of 5% success rate.
Well that makes sense and seem pretty accurate, thanks.
