I didn't know about the Drain/Aspir/Dread Spikes thing. What seems most likely to me now is that Fealty should properly read, "Grants a powerful resistance to enfeebling and dark magic," and that Meteor and Comet are in fact not elemental magic but dark (VS, I think you were saying this already, so I apologize). "Dark Magic" here I mean as opposed to Elemental/Enfeebling/Healing/Summoning, etc, btw, and not Fire/Ice/Wind, etc (so stun is included, while dark-element elemental magic would not be).
So if this is the case, a PLD and SCH fighting a colibri, reflecting bio2 and drain should be reduced, while Noctohelix shouldn't be. Would be interesting to check.
I'm very unsure on whether Fealty affects Choke/Shock/Burn/Rasp/Drown/Frost/Helices...
They are elemental magic, but they do have enfeebling "effects"
I think SE just fucked up writing what Fealty will and won't work on
The list seems to be:
Any and All Dark Magic
Any and All Enfeebling Magic
Divine Magic (?)
Enfeebling "Effects" from Monster's TP moves
I'll go test Helices now >_>
From my understanding, it can be under Chainspell.
Can AV Only cast Meteor with Chainspell active?
I recall it being mentioned he can cast it freely when under a certain amount of health, 60% or 70% or something.
Myself (PLD75/WHM37) and Flintyoungblood (SCH75/BLM37) went into Diorama Ghelsba to do tests on Helices and Elemental DOT Resists. Here was the progression of how it went.
#1: Flintyoungblood had an Aquilo's Staff equipped for this whole thing.
#2: Flintyoungblood also had 77+76 INT and 282 Elemental Skill (INT Focused Build)
#3: Cryohelix would do 86 Damage Unresisted. Any other Helix would do 68 damage Unresisted (See Point #1)
=========Pre-Fealty=========
Flintyoungblood casted Cryohelix. 86 damage. (No resist)
Flintyoundblood casted Pyrohelix. 68 damage. (No resist)
Flintyoundblood casted Choke. Landed.
=========With Fealty Active========
Flintyoungblood casted Cryohelix. 86 damage. DOT effect still present. (No resist)
Seraphus erased the Helix effect.
Flintyoungblood casted Luminohelix. 74 damage. DOT effect still present. (No resist)
Seraphus erased the Helix effect.
Flintyoungblood casted Noctohelix. 74 damage. DOT effect still present. (No resist)
Flintyoungblood casted Choke. Landed.
Seraphus erased the Choke effect.
Conclusion: Fealty has zero effect on any spell of the Elemental magic family, regardless of the spell having an inherant enfeebling effect.
Meteor cannot be Elemental Magic.
Hope that sheds some light on the subject for some people.
That wasn't a colibri but it'll do I guess.
Link to video and time please?
No it can never ever cast Meteor or Comet with Chainspell active, even under 79% where it gains Meteor, Comet, and Explosive Impulse on its spells/abilities list to freely use without 2hrs, where as above 79% it can only use these with Manafont and Meikyo Shisui.
Most of the wiki information about AV is completely incorrect, the best thing would be to remove all of that information about AV on that page.
Pretty awesome if it's enfeebling or dark magic. Sorry to have started the derail again on it, but I think this is better headway on killing AV smoothly han most recent topics that come with jokes and such.
Ya I think it could easily be either, but I am confident it is dark element based, as seen in the .dat, along with the fact that Fenrir/Diabolos resist it. I think what Suiram suggested is an excellent way to find if it could be dark magic, as opposed to being just a guess whether or not it could be dark.
This thread is now about meteor.
Discuss.
