My old group did 2x MNK/NIN, 1x THF/NIN, 1x COR/WHM, 1x WHM/SCH, 1x RDM/WHM and 1x BRD/WHM. Was able to hit 9/10 gears consistently (somehow the THF always managed to aggro the 10th) and wiped the floor with LBC.

Debuffs were Elegy, Slow 2, Paralyze 2, Dia 2. Songs were double March. Rolls were Fighter's and Monk's. Thief was able to engage full time without having to worry about the increase in TP generation. Both Monks, the Thief and the Corsair were enough damage to get it down quick. Never had to use a two hour.

Run pass through those 10 gears to save your time, just kill the Chariot to lower its defense. You will get like 60 mins for boss in which you should not lose at any rate. If you're happened to wipe, just dot sac with one of your RDM then resume. Seriously, you don't need to nerf its homing missile just to seek a win, unless you want to farm 4th floor Rampart.

1 thf, 1 brd, 2 mnk, 1 war, 1 blm, and 2 rdm. <-- change your mnk or war to a whm will almost guarantee a win.

2 melee is always better on a boss so put either 1 mnk 1war or 2 mnk. TP spam only matters with more than 2 DDs. Unweakened LBC and weakened LBC don't have different defense and attack (assuming chariot killed), it's just Homing Missile that requires you to play "safe" and not zerg it. If you have trouble with TP spam, ask your BLM to stop nuking and your thf to stop Sneak Attack / feint to see how it goes. And of course having slow/paralyze/blind from a rdm that has other gears than full AF makes tanking 10x easier. Last unweakened LBC we did, we had 13 AOE total throughout the fight for ~200 damage each time.

If you can't kill or get unlucky with wind weather, bad pull or whatever, for the 10 Gears, engage LBC with 2 melees and make sure both get enough hate, then let one of them solo tank LBC while the other one pulls away out of range.
When Missile happens, hate should shift to your disengage melee who now will commence the solo tanking instead, repeat and win.

This is how we do it if THF manage to link Gear during wind weather etc, someone in the BR Strat thread also mentioned that doing how I suggested was faster for them skipping all 10 Gears totally even if the LBC kill is a little slower.

With your setup you should have no problems with MP... Only thing i can think of is your tanks suck and keep getting hit too much. Might be a problem that one of your tanks is a BB and one isn't and is keeping too much hate. LBC hits like a truck so its very important to trade hate.

If that is the problem and your BB mnk is just overpowering your other mnk tell him to slow down if he can't keep his shadows up.

we've killed lbc with mnk/war unnerfed as well lol.

/nin is overrated for salvage archaic stuff (except arrapago boss). you spend way too much time trying to get ichi up and doing shit damage. the only thing is your whm has to be on point if you're unlucky with counters. otherwise, these NMs dont have fang rush to one shot you and all their tp moves wipe shadows anyways
you should never have to cast ichi. Haste is balanced between the two dds and you only cast Ni really. Being monk/nin doesn't mean you have to keep shadows 100% ( except arrapago boss). with 2 marches, and especially two SV'd march like you should have for all the fight ( troubadour) shadows are never an issu and Ni is always up.

    I'm gonna have to disagree.

The second you see (Boss) readies Discharge/Inertia Stream, start casting utsu1, for regular hits, just use utsu2 unless needed.

We skip the gears and only kill the west chariot. Then we solo tank the chariot, if HM goes off we swap tanks. WAR and DRK are very good back ups in this situation since they can spam hate spells/abil from a distance while the MNK tanks. MP is never an issue because one person is taking a majority of the damage. The fight is longer around 15 min but skipping the gears makes up for the added time and its a near flawless strategy.

The first run we did a bunch of farming and just tried the boss with killing no gears or chariots. 2nd run we killed chariot to weaken def/mag def and killed 9/10 gears. 3rd run we killed all gears and mag def/def gear and we still wiped around 15%. We normally get to the boss with around 12-13 minutes. LBC just seems to spam nothing but discharge and it hits the melee for 400+ He uses it so often it just wears out the mages MP by the time he gets to like 30-40%. Even with only sticking 2 mnk on him for dmg + the blm and both have penance, the AOE spammage is still crazy. Is our setup bad for him or should we have 20+ minutes for him no matter what the cost?
Sometimes it just takes a few attempts to get used to fighting chariots. However, if you have 2xMNK and BLM and are seeing AoE spam (before 20%), you should probably evaluate your monks' tanking style. The TP from monks & BLM shouldn't cause the spam especially with penance rounds, so it possible the monks are getting hit more than they should.
Qlash's video is a good reference for how much spam you should really see.

Some key points that might help for trying to do your first few LBC kills:
Try to get 10/10 gears killed.
    Kill west chariot
Make sure tanks are properly unlocked.
Try using only 2xMNKs for damage till the last 20% or so and then go all out with the other DDs from there. If you feel comfortable, you can also do with BLM.
Save Hundred Fists for the last 20% as it can cause more AoE than you can handle right now.
Mages should get Paralynas off ASAP so it doesn't interfere with Utsusemi casts.

Depending on your monks gear (I know you said one had BB), I think this should take roughly 10 minutes to kill like this.

Lets get to the merits and gear portion.

1.Do your monks have penance?. Whatever level your penance is you make a macro from when the penance runs out so the other mnk can use his penance.

    2. Is your Warrior Fighting LBC as well? This is feeding too much TP. Also is your warrior using a Ridill, or is your mnks using any faith hands. Those weapons feed too much TP and are too hard on the mages.

    3. Do not have both your mnks hundred fists at the same time. one Mnk uses hundred fists during his penance cycle and the other mnk uses his hundred fists on his penance cycle.

    4. Face the sides if he is unnerfed. It will ALWAYS turn to you eventually to try and force a HM on you. If it turns to face a mnk at ANY time. Have your blm throw a stun. You do not see to see the HM animation. If you stun when it turns, it will never get off a HM the entire fight.

    5. Always kill the mini chariot. He feels like a PLD with an aegis shield when we don't nerf him from the mini chariot.

    6. Counterstance... Are your monks using counterstance? Discharge is a Physical attack not magical. Equip Jelly ring and arhats gi if you see him giving you problems with discharge. Do not use counterstance because discharge will do alot of damage. (it shouldn't be doing 400 dmg to your mnks).

    7. Paralyse II. When you use Paralyse, Make sure you stacked up on MND. Half of his TP moves should get paralysed if you have enough MND.

    8. I would not force the HM. Sometimes when we kill all the gears. His HM spam still gives us alot of trouble. He also seems to double attack from the front or (zanshin) from the front only.

    9. I would use a whm for auspice and for stoneskin cures. he also has Cure V which won't pull hate after homing missile lik a cure IV would.

    10. Use body Boost and Mana boost before warping up. Give the revitilizer to your BARD.
use 1 March 1 attack song. 2 march might feed him more TP then you want.

    11. Use ichi right when discharge goes off. IF you have slow and elegy on, and you get paralyna right away, your ichi will never interuppt, ever. If it does interuppt, then its the mages/brds fault unless you moved on accident.

    12. If a HM goes off, have 1 MNK hold back and have the WAR provoke and fight it with the other mnk. You can also save your counterstance for this instance then click it off.

    13. 25% He will gain TP regen and start turning to face you alot more often. I have all the mages heal, buff, cure, cast songs, stun, EVERYTHING is done on 1 side on the monster. The Side that I put BOTH monks on. Whenever it turns to face you, you stun and you ALL move to the other side. It will get 0 Homing missiles the entire fight all the time. the mages tend to be in the front of the monster because they don't have "hate", but when the first HM goes off, they are directly in front of it. It sometimes does 2 HM in a row. People wipe alot at 15%.

    Oh lord

The rest of the advice is pretty decent though, although I'll have to disagree with avoiding missiles if you 10/10 nerf it.

Homing missiles nerfed does like what, 200 dmg? doesn't kill shadows? Big deal, eat it up like a man, it beats discharge any day.

This is wrong info, counterstance doesn't affect the amount of damage from discharge. If you are taking 400 damage that's because you don't have shell V or didn't have INT cell.

Ya, jesus. Where do people get this information.

Counterstance is a god send and wont make you take more damage off discharge or any other chariot TP move (other than Mortal Revolution).

You cant para TP moves >.>.

And if you nerf HM, you most definately dont want to avoid it, as it is the safest TP move at that time.

It sounds to me like you guys just need to get a bit more comfortable tanking this.

our group uses 2 DD (2 bb mnk, or 1 mnk 1full usu sam) as others have said, any more than 2 DD on at a time is too much tp spam.

i would advise a whm over 2nd rdm for a variety of reasons, mostly summed up in whms ability to cure wayyy more efficiently. couple this with /sch to increase efficiency. also you gain access to auspice which can put your mnks pretty close to SB cap.

also we assign a rdm to the secondary tank, and the whm to main tank for NA's, and hastes. our rdm is like super crazy go nuts though so i dunno if yours is confident in enfeebling + doing that also.

one thing too that may help your tanks is to do 2 marches, although u may be giving it more spam that way. we always do 2 marches on bosses, except for when mnk 2hrs, seems to help keep shadows up.

also, i dont know how new your group is, but it took us a while to gel as a group. salvage is pretty simple now with a 100+ runs under your belt, but i remem starting out it wasnt a walk in the park. keep pluggin away at it you will get it sooner or later :D

but ya with that setup, you really shouldnt have any difficulty with this boss. one thing we do too which you may or may not like, is we zerg the last 25 percent. he seems to get tp spammy a lot then and for us, just seems better to take him out fast than to drag it out. and yes, if you weaken it ffs stand in front. nerfed HM spam is like 200dmg and no shadows gone. discharge or stream is para/bind and shadows wipe. and lbc can got bananas on you if he gets DA off lol. ill admit im not the greatest of tanks, but hes killed my taru before i even knew what happend lol.

We always, use 2 dds (SAM/WAR , MNK or 2 MNKs) on it as well, and I have to say Counterstance is awesome. Everyone pretty much covered anything that might be there. The only thing I can add is make sure your Mages get rid of the para from discharge if a cast gets paraed then it'll probably whack you a good couple of times for around 700ish total damage easy, which can be troublesome. bring some - damage gear for when/if shadows are down. He can hit like a truck but it becomes very manageable with a few - Damage pieces, especially if you have Body Boost. Oh and if you do nerf it really just stand in front of the thing, HM becomes a joke nerfed, by far the least annoying thing LBC has.

actually, i remember doing this too. even with 6-9 ppl. we would skip them all intentionally just to kill the mini chariot and just kill LBC. we tanked him so much, that LBC was just a robber crab to us. We always had fast erases to move to the side before he faced us, but in the situation where he Readied "homing missile" before he turns (he can be gay sometimes) the 2nd mnk will already have had enough hate from when i was solo tanking it to take it off. If i was the only mnk and i got missiled, i would 2 hour immediately after and get it back asap.

if you killed all the gears, take the homing missiles from the front, anyway. it makes it incredibly easy to not have to deal with discharge and shit instead.

it would never take more than 5-15 min depending on the ppl/me solo tanking or on sam etc.

if shit ever hit the fan and i was on sam, i would tank it np, but if support wasnt there, id just kite it with a terra staff on and ohshit macro. w/phalanx 2 it hits for like 120 and with 1470 HP it was never a big deal. you can get it caught in those corners like LAC while keeping it red.

edit: whoops! alma' beat me to it!

Allow no more than 2 DDs in range of LBC at once. If you use 2 DDs and still run out of MP, try WHM+RDM instead of 2 RDM.

I have also kited it solo on THF in full eva + skadi feet once, cause the party wiped, and kept it busy for 6-7 minutes near between the teleporters where you start, while main pt recovered. It can't hit my THF and lose hate very fast.

Yes, except slightly off-center to reduce Diffusion Ray damage, as it's a breath attack. Same idea as standing on Faf's feet.
