Free choice is being able to pick either side you want. When you agree to that you don't agree to either side, simply the idea to pick. Just because I want someone to be allowed to do something doesn't necessarily mean I want to do it.

Right now, are chainsaws allowed in bars? I'm pretty sure there isn't a law against it. Do people have free choice to allow or restrict chainsaws? Yes they do, and I would probably have a no chainsaw sign outside my bar, but I don't care if others want chainsaws in their bars.

To be honest, I'm not sure if Rhinox is getting this. Right now, there is no choice to allow guns into your bar (for good or bad, whatever). A libertarian would believe that people should be allowed to decide if they would allow them into their bar, but also that they have the right to decide that they would not want them in their establishment.

From a rights perspective, this is like being for gay marriage, but not particularly interested in marrying a man yourself.

I lived and went to college in Arizona.

1. Easy as hell to get a handgun.
2. I have NEVER been patted down or asked if I had a gun before I entered a bar. (Maybe they do that shit at nightclubs, but those places are littered with hood rats and anyone who has just a little bit of sense would stay the hell away from those places)

It's not hypocritical to be in favor of CC in bars/restaurants and then not allow it in your own bar. It's more that you're in favor of business owners decide things for themselves instead of restricting them.

Here's a better analogy...I'm in favor of people being allowed to play techno music in bars. However, if I owned a bar I would not allow people to play techno music in it. Yes techno is not illegal, but hopefully you get the point.

When it comes down to it, the number of incidents nationwide involving registered CC gun owners using their guns in criminal ways is so miniscule that people wishing to restrict where they can CC with the idea that such restriction will prevent crime is founded on nothing but baseless paranoia.

Other states allow this. If you're going to say "this is a bad idea", point to some statistics to show why registered CC gun owners are irresponsible when they are allowed to carry into bars and restaurants.

I really can't see the point in this bill. Guns and Alcohol don't mix, ever.

It just really sounds like a recipe for disaster. There's only two times I ever carry my gun, and that's when I'm working early mornings or graveyard, or out at night, but never anywhere where there is alcohol. I'd like to think I'm quite a responsible person, but not everyone with a CWL is, and you never know how people will react to a little alcohol.
