    no bootable partition in table

I got my computer today and it worked fine when I first turned it on. After installing a dvd drive (didn't buy it with one) I got the message in the title upon start up. I thought it was a problem of the computer trying to boot from a flash drive I had plugged in as that's what it seemed to say in the bios (or whatever that place is that pressing delete in startup is, it was in the boot up or something like that menu)

Restarting with the vista cd in did nothing so I just unplugged the dvd drive and the computer started fine. Does the computer think that my dvd drive is my main boot drive or whatever and is trying to load from there?

How do I fix this and teach my computer a lesson about disobedience.

You need to go into the BIOS and adjust the boot order. The computer is looking to boot from the DVD drive before the hard drive, so you just have to get it to look at the hard drive first. To get into the BIOS, when you first start the computer look for it to say something like "To enter Setup press F2" and then tap it until you get into there. Find the boot order section, and move the hard drive up to #1.

When I tried to stop the booting from the flash drive I didn't even see any other options to boot from (ie the dvd drive or HD) perhaps I was in a different bios section but I will try that.

When I did install the dvd drive I didn't do any slave master whatever switches. I'm not even sure if that makes sense but I have heard that term before when installing drives.

You should see something like this:

And you want "First Boot Device" to be the hard drive. If you can give me the make and model of your motherboard I can look up exactly where you need to go.

Master/Slave is outdated and used with old hard drives, so you don't need to worry about that.
